Historia
In August of 1914, the British ship Endurance set sail for the South Atlantic. In October 1915, still half a continent away from its intended base, the ship was trapped, then crushed in the ice. For five months, Sir Ernest Shackleton and his men, drifting on ice packs, were castaways in one of the most savage regions of the world. Lansing describes how the men survived a 1,000-mile voyage in an open boat across the stormiest ocean on the globe and an overland trek through forbidding glaciers and mountains.

Breathtaking Account of Courage in the Face of Extreme Odds
Revisado: 08-30-16
Hold on to your hat when you listen to this book! After a somewhat slow start, the action picks up and you hold your breath to the end. I was fully mesmerized with the thrilling story of Shackleton and his crew - they faced long odds of survival and danger at every turn. The performance was compelling and I almost felt every icy blast of water, every gust of wind

Historia
Two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize David McCullough tells the dramatic story behind the story about the courageous brothers who taught the world how to fly: Wilbur and Orville Wright.
On December 17, 1903, at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, Wilbur and Orville Wright's Wright Flyer became the first powered, heavier-than-air machine to achieve controlled, sustained flight with a pilot aboard. The Age of Flight had begun. How did they do it? And why?

Engrossing History!
Revisado: 08-15-16
This is, by far, one of the best books I have ever read or listened to. I was enthralled by the in-depth story of the Wright Brothers and the history of flight. The level of detail the author provides around the Wright's experiments and the sacrifices they made to build, test, and fly their plane caused me to pause and reflect about the tremendous advances made in manned aviation. The Wright Brothers are truly a story of self-made men who methodically pursued their passion of manned flight. This book shows the power of purpose and perseverance. I recommend this book to everyone, especially high school and college age students and entrepreneurs. Truly inspiring and educational.

Practical How-to Guide to Qualify Efficiently for Boston!
Revisado: 02-24-16
I recommend this book for anyone who wants a straightforward guide to qualifying for the Boston Marathon.
Is it easy? No.
Is it guaranteed? No.
Will you work more consistently and harder than you have in other training plans? Yes.
Can you achieve your dream if you do the work? Absolutely!
This is one of the best books I have read about how to structure a solid training plan to put you in the best position to run a fast marathon. I like how efficient the plan is and how Chris has structured the book to make it a simple reference guide. I will listen to this book again for information and motivation.
Great job, Chris!

Historia
On May 18, 1860, William H. Seward, Salmon P. Chase, Edward Bates, and Abraham Lincoln waited in their hometowns for the results from the Republican National Convention in Chicago. When Lincoln emerged as the victor, his rivals were dismayed and angry. Throughout the turbulent 1850s, each had energetically sought the presidency as the conflict over slavery was leading inexorably to secession and civil war.

The Genius of Abraham Lincoln
Revisado: 12-17-15
This book and the wonderful narration invoke a wide range of emotions - admiration, awe, excitement, joy, laughter, sadness, tears, and so many more. I found myself holding my breath, laughing out loud, and near tears throughout this book. After listening to this book, I have even more respect for the wit, wisdom, intellect, political savvy, moral character, and genius of Abraham Lincoln. Prepare yourself for a roller coaster ride. I love history, and I learned so much from this great book. I recommend this to everyone, especially during this time in our history. I believe so much can be applied to the events of this current day. Great read and listen!

Historia
Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his Black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

Bravo! Bravo! Great storyline with unexpected twists and turns. Really enjoyed re-visiting Jake, Ozzie, and all of the characters in Clanton - it felt like going home.
Primo performance of the book. I could picture each character through the voicing.
I highly recommend this to all Grisham and legal thriller fans!

Historia
In Rocks, Joe Perry exposes his unrepentant, unbridled life as the lead guitarist of Aerosmith. He delves deep into his volatile, profound, and enduring relationship with singer Steve Tyler and reveals the real people behind the larger-than-life rock gods onstage. The nearly five-decade saga of Aerosmith is epic, at once a study in brotherhood and solitude that plays out on the killing fields of rock and roll.

Discover Your Passion and Love With A Full Heart
Revisado: 01-31-15
What made the experience of listening to Rocks the most enjoyable?
This book is so much more than a "Rock 'N Roll" memoir - it is a story of Joe Perry's passion and his deep, intense love for those closest to him. It is about the music - the creativity, the performance, the passion, the drive. It's about the love - the love he has for his family, for his wife, for his children, for his bandmates.
What does Joe Perry bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I think I enjoyed the audio version of this book much more because of hearing Joe's inflection and emotion when he read the book. That inflection and deeper meaning derived from it really brought the book to life and allowed me, the listener, an "inside look".
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were 2 moments in the book that were very moving for me - I was almost in tears when I listened to Joe describe his father's battles with cancer, his death, and the deep love and respect he had for his father. The second moment was really a series of moments throughout the book as he described his deep and abiding love for his wife, Billie, and his children. I could viscerally "feel" the intense love and deep respect he has for them and how he nurtures and protects his relationships with them.
Any additional comments?
I recommend this book for anyone who truly wants to understand what it means to follow your passion completely and unapologetically and with deep passion and drive.
