It’s great to have a Tren back!

While the narration wasn’t perfect, it is still some of the best from Battletech. Tren as always was fantastic as always and Sierra has tons of potential. The story isn’t BLPs best but it feels like the best that could be managed given the players and necessary outcome. It was still captivating and left me wanting more.

Great combat as usual from BLP but for me it was realizing there are very few throw away characters in this series; they all get woven in and out and back again. Also there are far too few writers in this space right now that know their history. Hopefully folks will look at these books as an example of how that enhances the feel of a setting and the development of the narrative.

This is a good story brought down by the fact that neither narrator was consistent in pronunciations or character voices. With better editing and greater care given to the character portrayals both could be great additions to the Battletech narrators.

I loved this story with the even though I was not a fan of how Victor Steiner-Davion is treated by the author. Victor is written as he was at the beginning of his arc when we was just graduating as a young man instead of the battle hardened and scarred man that he grew into over the many novels. It is an odd choice that detracts from an otherwise amazing story.
