Historia
It is 1547, and Scotland has been humiliated by an English invasion and is threatened by machinations elsewhere beyond its borders, but it is still free. Paradoxically, her freedom may depend on a man who stands accused of treason. He is Francis Crawford of Lymond, a scapegrace nobleman of crooked felicities and murderous talents, possessed of a scholar's erudition and a tongue as wicked as a rapier. In The Game of Kings, this extraordinary antihero returns to the country that has outlawed him to redeem his reputations even at the risk of his life.

Outstanding!
Revisado: 08-10-22
Dorothy Dunnett has been a favorite author of mine for many years, and this audiobook version does justice to her exceptional command of language and character. Mr. Monteath’s reading brings Ms. Dunnett’s world of 16th C Scotland to life as he moves seamlessly among the characters’ various accents and multiple languages. It’s a joy to hear the Scots pronunciations and expressions trip so naturally from his tongue. If you haven’t read Dunnett before, you are in for a real treat with both the Lymond Chronicles and The House of Niccolo Series. Personally, I can’t wait to listen to the Audible versions of rest of this series that I have greatly enjoyed reading in the past.

Historia
An all-new Dresden Files story headlines this urban fantasy short story collection starring the Windy City's favorite wizard. From the Wild West to the bleachers at Wrigley Field, humans, zombies, incubi, and even fey royalty appear, ready to blur the line between friend and foe. In the never-before-published "Zoo Day", Harry treads new ground as a dad, while fan-favorite characters Molly Carpenter, his onetime apprentice, White Council Warden Anastasia Luccio, and even Bigfoot stalk through the pages of more classic tales.

Fun stories “flesh”-out characters in the Dresden world
Revisado: 08-03-18
This collection of short stories offered a very enjoyable and revealing glimpse into the lives and perspectives of characters swirling around Harry Dresden from Molly and Marcone to Harry’s young daughter and even his dog. Delightfully performed by talented professionals, each tale is also introduced by Jim Butcher himself. I was sorry to reach the last line—but what a treat to peek inside Mouse’s mind!

Historia
At the time of the French Revolution, one of Britain's most skillful naval officers, Charles Saunders Hayden, is a young lieutenant, the son of an English father and a French mother. His abilities and his loyalty to the king of England are beyond dispute, yet his career seems doomed by his "mixed" heritage and lack of political connections. Consequently, Hayden is assigned to an aging frigate, the Themis, under the command of Captain Josiah Hart, a man known as "Faint Hart" throughout the service.

An enjoyable plot, a solid rooting in history, and promising character development-I hope there are more such novels to come from this author
