I enjoyed the character development in this final book of the series. The only issue I had was that the ending did not address many of the subplots brought up in the previous two books, and felt a bit rushed. Still worth listening to the series, though.

Well done overview of MJ’s life involving as many perspectives as possible, and was thoroughly researched.

I enjoyed how this book progresses the game world and the outside world stories. I also like how it did not have detailed dungeon explorations and mechanics, since that dragged a bit in the earlier books. Overall it is definitely recommended, plus the audiobook version has a good listening length.

Gabor Matè does an excellent job illuminating the transgressions of modern capitalist society, and how it deliberately undermines healthy human growth. It damages the mental health of infants and children, which in turn damages their bodies through disease and cancer. Daniel Matè does a good job of narrating the book.

I have been enjoying the mechanical aspects of the world building, and the characters are likeable. It's an easy-going series so far, which I find refreshing. But if you're looking for something darker or more dramatic, this is not a series you would enjoy.

There are many LitRPGs with epic battles and high stakes, but I enjoy how this one was more about discovery and character building rather than that. Also, I could relate to the MC given how many new ideas he has versus finishing existing projects.

The narration was good.

Looking forward to the next audiobook!

I thought the concept was interesting. I was interested to see how the MC would struggle with keeping his identity hidden, and would rise above the challenges he faced. Unfortunately, any challenges he faced were quickly and easily overcome. For example, instead of struggling to learn etiquette as a previous commoner, he literally reads multiple books on the subject overnight and is instantly an expert. Instead of having to adapt to injuries until they gradually heal, he heals nearly instantly. Any potential rivals he faced would either die without posing a true challenge, or would submit to MC.

I could go on but I think you will get the point by now.

The narrator did a good job, so at least there is that.

So far, the Freelance Familiars series is a very enjoyable and fun series to listen to. I like how the worldbuilding has developed since book one. I'm also glad that the "urban fantasy" element of the story has transitioned from "magical society hiding in the mundane" in book one, to "magical story set in urban environments" as in this book. Potter is definitely growing as a writer and it shows.

Jonathan Waters provides good and consistent voice narration. I like all of his voices.

Looking forward to the audiobook for book 4!
