Historia
Everything about the man is a mystery: the massive ranch in the remote Black Hills of Wyoming that nobody ever visits, the women who live with him, the secret philanthropies, the private airstrip, the sudden disappearances. And especially the persistent rumors that the man’s wealth comes from killing people. Joe Pickett, still officially a game warden but now mostly a troubleshooter for the governor, is assigned to find out what the truth is, but he discovers a lot more than he’d bargained for. There are two other men living up at that ranch. One is a stone-cold killer who takes an instant dislike to Joe.

C.J. Box never fails to create a high drama page turner story. He is a master at bringing all the story lines involving each character together with surprising mostly happy endings.

The last few chapters where multiple characters were brought to justice.
Revisado: 05-11-24
There is always a lot to like about a C.J. Box novel. 1) how one or more events from the past take on key parts of what are threads in the main story. 2) and how the author is able to make each character play their roles in ways that both reveal important bits of information without giving away too much. The author is a master storyteller!

Historia
Joe Pickett is the new game warden in Twelve Sleep, Wyoming, a town where nearly everyone hunts and the game warden—especially one like Joe who won't take bribes or look the other way—is far from popular. When he finds a local hunting outfitter dead, splayed out on the woodpile behind his state-owned home, he takes it personally. There had to be a reason that the outfitter, with whom he's had run-ins before, chose his backyard, his woodpile to die in.

The dart gun!!
Revisado: 04-18-24
I liked all “getting inside each major character’s head”. Plus things like having keys hidden in clothing and the belt knife Peter carried. Plus the power of love that both redeemed and sustained Lewis, Peter and their families.

The old book.
Revisado: 04-06-24
The spiritual aspects in the Walt Longmire novels are very entertaining; and are something I look forward to in each book. And since Walt’s life long friend, Henry Standing Bear is an important character the indian spirit culture blends into the story very well. Plus I really enjoyed the basketball drama culminating in winning the championship.

Revisado: 03-27-24
Craig Johnson has perfected telling captivating stories that connect events from the past to some sort of resolution in the present. He does it so well that I have yet to figure out story’s ending. Plus I greatly enjoy the Indian culture and Indian characters being a major part of crafting a very interesting and unique story.
