I’m not sure I can stick with it. I may enjoy reading this one more. Ari Flakos is a good narrator generally, but everything is so urgent and breathless in this story - always building toward some crescendo that doesn’t come. I kept wanting him to calm down. I went back to it after a couple months thinking maybe it had just been me because the reviews are all so terrific, but I had the same response. Slowed it down a little and it didn’t help.

Bravo Chanel. This book is beautifully written and read. I did speed it up just slightly as her cadence is slow- 1.25x was perfect. That is the least important thing about to though. I feel like I want a print version too so I can highlight and remember many of the passages.
