Historia
In this rich new audio production, acclaimed British American actress Rebecca Hall brings one of E. M. Forster's most admired works to life in this classic tale of human struggle. A charming young Englishwoman, Lucy Honeychurch, is wooed by both free-spirited George Emerson and wealthy Cecil Vyse while vacationing in Italy. Though attracted to George, Lucy becomes engaged to Cecil despite twice turning down his proposals. On hearing of the news, George confesses his love, leaving Lucy torn between marrying the more socially acceptable Cecil or George, the man she knows would bring her true happiness. Should Lucy choose social acceptance or true love?

A Slumbering Feminist in Florence.
Revisado: 12-10-22
The narrator made E M Forster s Victorian love story with its outdated customs and ridiculuos, discriminatory socail norms, ,come alive ,be funny , thought-proking. and truly a classic.

Historia
On the banks of the Zambezi River, a few miles from the majestic Victoria Falls, there was once a colonial settlement called The Old Drift. Here begins the epic story of a small African nation, told by a mysterious swarm-like chorus that calls itself man’s greatest nemesis. The tale? A playful panorama of history, fairytale, romance and science fiction. The moral? To err is human. In 1904, in a smoky room at the hotel across the river, an Old Drifter named Percy M. Clark, foggy with fever, makes a mistake that entangles the fates of an Italian hotelier and an African busboy.

Thoughts a Drift :
Revisado: 01-30-21
An amazingly written story , reminiscent of an African folks- legend from " Zambian mythology" with rich creative language superimposed into modern and futuristic tale or saga. I felt (as an ancient colonial myself)there were many lessons to be learn from this brilliant young writer. Maybe it was too drawn out and had a complexity of times and characters . At one point, I was confused and almost gave up listening. But I am glad I persevered rather like "War and Peace" .
The narrators had excellent voices but not all the accents were believable..Nyla sounded South African?

you have to love the Irish!
Revisado: 06-25-20
The narrator and the story could only be in and of the west of Ireland..such a country side of wet greenness.Only there the quiet people with a lilting language stitching together their unique community in laughter and tears. It is seen through the eyes and silent sighs of a teenage boy , his sadness fears and longings pulsing like incessant rain. His love of family ,village , the universe and of romance has a nostalgic honesty of an era lost forever. I enjoyed every moment like a riverdance played on a fiddle I did not want it to stop .
