The year is 1992. The unthinkable has happened. East and West are on a crash course for war, and the battlefield will be Germany. Peace is no longer an option, and all bets are off as the Free World and the Communist Bloc descend into war.

I can't listen any more
Revisado: 01-08-25
Having lived through this time period in the military the story details are just too absurd. I know it is a pretend alternate history but the details are ridiculous, the characters stupid all to drive an alternate result.

Historia
In Eyes of Prey, Bekker, an insane pathologist who experiments with his patients’ pain thresholds, is finally brought down by an unrelenting Lucas Davenport, who brutally maims the doctor’s beautiful face but leaves him alive. “You should have killed me,” were Bekker’s parting and prophetic words.
In this sequel to Eyes of Prey, Bekker endures the indignities and horrors of imprisonment, taking comfort in the fact that it is only a matter of time before he will make Lucas Davenport pay.

Disappointing ending to the series
Revisado: 02-11-23
The first 8 books were amazing and the performance by Fred Berman was awesome. Throwing in a couple of new characters in key roles seemed like a stretch. It was OK but nowhere as good as the prior 8 books.

To reader: learn the terms used in the book.
Revisado: 03-29-22
Story is engaging and pretty good. The reader does a reasonable job except he doesn't realize that LCDR should be read lieutenant commander and LTJG should be lieutenant JG (or junior grade) so he literally read "LCDR".
Not that big a deal but it just grates each time.

Historia
To all appearances, Dan Chase is a harmless retiree in Vermont with two big mutts and a grown daughter he keeps in touch with by phone. But most 60-year-old widowers don't have multiple driver's licenses, savings stockpiled in banks across the country, and a bugout kit with two Beretta Nanos stashed in the spare bedroom closet. Most have not spent decades on the run.

Lucas Page has no interest in helping the FBI - except for the fact that the victim was his former partner.

Starts out OK then dives into political diatribe
Revisado: 07-02-21
First couple of hours are somewhat interesting as the plot gets revealed. Then we move into the predictable political mumbo jumbo. The greatest risk to the US is a group of domestic terrorists - yes, "That means you" you nasty gun owners who want to blame everything on the poor innocent Islamic terrorists.
