Interesting reading
Revisado: 08-28-24
Interesting stories and plots. Author begins with how and why the stories came to be written and stays true to this… Proves romance books don’t have to be trashy and use language that doesn’t need used.

Great fictional OPS story
Revisado: 06-18-15
Enjoyed the story very much. Kept the theme of the book going with a little romance on the side.
A little foul language but this makes the story more realistic as men who live and work in this environment probably speak this way routinely.

Historically accurate fiction
Revisado: 06-04-15
Good story. Author writes a historically accurate romance story. Not always easy to mix a fictional romance using historical characters. Takes a lot of knowledge and research. Characters were strong, but could have been stronger with a bit more "writer's liberty."
Narrator has a very good use of the French language, which is very important, as most of the characters were French. The performance would have been difficult to listen to had this not been the case.

Historia
Available for the first time as an audiobook in this original Outlander novella, Diana Gabaldon reveals what really happened to Roger MacKenzie Wakefield’s parents. Orphaned during World War II, Roger believed that his mother died during the London Blitz, and that his father, an RAF pilot, was killed in combat. But in An Echo in the Bone, Roger discovers that this may not be the whole story. Now, in "A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows," readers finally learn the truth.

A longer story would have been nicer
Revisado: 03-07-15
This "tidbit" creates more questions than it answers...
And it ends so abruptly that I felt like I jumped into an abyss and landed smack in the middle of chaos. This feeling is what I imagine Claire and so many of the other "time jumpers" felt like after they passed through the stones. If that was Diane's purpose then BRAVO job well done...
Food for thought....
I only gave four stars because it did leave so many questions and ended so abruptly, as mentioned above. If that was the purpose, then 6 stars would be more appropriate of score.

Great Time Travel Series
Revisado: 02-05-15
This series is very entertaining. A very good "what if...." to the period of history that involved such turmoil in history that would define the boarders and rulers of the European countries we now call France, England, Wales and Scotland.
The narrator takes a little getting use to, but her understanding and pronunciation of the Old English tongue helps when reading AND listening to the books together.

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....
