Historia
A week before Christmas, a young photographer discovers a plastic-wrapped corpse amid the sand dunes north of Cape Town. The only thing found on the corpse is a dead iPhone, but it doesn't take long for the police to identify the body as that of Ernst Richter - the tech whiz behind MyAlibi, an Internet service that provides unfaithful partners with sophisticated cover stories to hide affairs.

Historia
Helicopter pilot Sara Denning joins an all-male navy battle group with little fanfare - and that's just the way she likes it. Her philosophy is simple - blend in, be competent, and above all, never do anything to stand out as a woman. But somewhere along the way, she lost herself - her feminine, easy-going soul now buried under so many defensive layers, she can't reach it anymore.

Well written, but overburdened with romance
Revisado: 11-09-15
What did you love best about Hover?
Wog night. Interesting that her character chose to participate. If Lt. Wilson did indeed kiss the belly of the royal baby, then I'm willing to set aside the overdone and very unlikely romance part of the story and give it a big E overall.
Would you be willing to try another book from Anne A. Wilson? Why or why not?
Sure, if the romance angle can be kept under control.
Which scene was your favorite?
See above. Also the action sequence near the end of the story was done well.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Several of them: each time the story shifted out of the soppy romance scenes, I felt a surge of relief and renewed interest.
Any additional comments?
As a former crew member of USS Kansas City (AOR-3), I was hoping for a few more glimpses of shipboard life beyond her own air crew, but of course not so much as to detract from the more intriguing helicopter pilot theme. There was no air det and certainly no female sailors aboard during my tour (last few months of Vietnam), so I wouldn't know if she had the opportunity or desire to interact with ship's company.

Obviously not an archer
Revisado: 05-25-15
Good enough story, but "laser-tipped broad heads"? A little research would have shown how silly.

Historia
Omar Haddad is a brutal jihadist in Syria who appears to be invulnerable and capable of supernatural feats. But is Haddad divine, as he claims? Is he a gifted magician? Or is he making use of a stunning scientific breakthrough? And what, exactly, is keeping him from unleashing the global apocalypse he’s so eager to bring about? Brennan Craft, a quirky quantum physics genius, has the answers, and the US military is desperate to capture him.

Performer should choose his work more carefully
Revisado: 01-10-15
What would have made Quantum Lens better?
Poor storyline. Caricatures instead of characters. This is the first time I've read this author's works, and it may be the last. The performance was good enough, but not good enough to carry this flop.
What was most disappointing about Douglas E. Richards’s story?
Reads like a comic book ... and I don't mean _graphic novel_.
Which character – as performed by Marc Vietor – was your favorite?
None
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Quantum Lens?
From the first scene onward. Save the poor listener from wasting time.
Any additional comments?
None necessary.
