Mitch is so pathetic and unconvincing. The melodrama of the story is over the top and implausible!!
Revisado: 02-17-24
The story was implausible and the characters pathetic!!
The previous three books were a stretch, but I could see it!! This book was over the top in terms of understandable drama and story line.

Historia
Scarred by the senseless death of their son and baffled by the engulfing chaos of the 1960s, Joe Allston and his wife, Ruth, have left the coast for a California retreat. And although their new home looks like Eden, it also has its serpents: Jim Peck, a messianic exponent of drugs, yoga, and sex, and Marian Catlin, an attractive young woman whose otherwordly innocence is far more appealing—and far more dangerous.

Wonderful Story
Revisado: 12-17-22
Love Wallace, and beauty of his language! Even though his stories have very dark moments, he portrays life in all its glory and pain!

Really!!!!!!!!
Revisado: 10-28-22
I have listened to at least 3 books by Greg Iiles and Natches Mississippi. I found the first engaging, after that I found everything implausible!!!!! If Natches is that corrupt and has so many mob bosses involved and killing everyone then we have a lot of issues .
Yes I do know this is fiction and I do enjoy a good story, I do like my fiction, especially murder mystery to have a thread of reality!!!
I finally turned it off after Dr. gage and his fucking around holier than though, Catlien and her drama of being Woodward and Brirstiein in Natches Mississippi going after another Pulitzer while wanting to be Gage’s wife
Oh, please !!!!!!! I am done . I will read fantasy, not murder mystery from Greg IIes!!
