Historia
Dr. Ross Greene, a distinguished clinician and pioneer in the treatment of kids with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, has worked with thousands of explosive children, and he has good news: these kids aren't attentionseeking, manipulative, or unmotivated, and their parents aren't passive, permissive disciplinarians. Rather, explosive kids are lacking some crucial skills in the domains of flexibility/adaptability, frustration tolerance, and problem solving, and they require a different approach.

Repetitive
Revisado: 02-24-25
He defends well the idea of plan A,B or C of how to approach the child, I loved the beginning of the book. But most of the books are Q&A structured and the answers keeps repeating themselves, in a way the authors keep playing the same key , defending the same principles , over and over again ( like I’ve just done right now), The principle is basic , I know it works, but the book was too long for its purpose.

The secret to raising the happiest kids in the world? Whatever it is, it's somewhere in the Netherlands. Kids in the US face lots of pressure to excel - often at the expense of happiness. But does it have to be this way? Not in the Netherlands! In The Happiest Kids in the World, expats Rina Mae Acosta and Michele Hutchison - both married to Dutchmen and bringing up their kids in the Netherlands - examine the unique environment that enables the Dutch to turn out such well-adjusted, independent children.

The voice of “Ina” is so robotic. It took time to get used to it. It’s a great book, though.

Good information

I was delighted with the first book. I’ve enjoyed every page. The performance of the first reader was AMAZING! ( with accents and voices). This book doesn’t seem like a continuation, but it’s like someone reading the summary.
It’s still informing anyways:)

Historia
Thousands of books have examined the effects of parents on their children. But almost none have thought to ask: What are the effects of children on their parents? In All Joy and No Fun, award-winning journalist Jennifer Senior tries to tackle this question, isolating and analyzing the many ways in which children reshape their parents' lives, whether it's their marriages, their jobs, their habits, their hobbies, their friendships, or their internal senses of self. She argues that changes in the last half century have radically altered the roles of today's mothers and fathers, making their mandates at once more complex and far less clear.

Disorganised
Revisado: 04-03-21
One of the roles an editor is to order all the brainstorming, formatting and linking text, adding cohesion and coherence to a text and mainly, helping referencing papers, articles books and other authors. The author can be a great professional and have great knowledge on the subject, but only throwing ideas and author-knows- best phrases is quite dangerous for readers without previous preparation. Psychologists, neurocientists and other professionals spend their careers referencing orhers and studying kids, and when they give their opinions, it is with conscious and with care (I am thinking of “the whole brain child “book.) so this book is not for me.
Fun fact: on the first page of the book, there were so many loosen topics, that I genuinely though the person was reading the name of the chapters on the summary!lol

Here, gathered in one volume, are the stories that made Clarice a Brazilian legend. Originally a cloth edition of 86 stories, now we have 89 in all, covering her whole amazing career, from her teenage years to her deathbed. In these pages, we meet teenagers becoming aware of their sexual and artistic powers, humdrum housewives whose lives are shattered by unexpected epiphanies, old people who don't know what to do with themselves - and in their stories, Clarice takes us through their lives - and hers - and ours.

The duality of aconflicted damsel
Revisado: 02-05-21
I had so much expectations about Clarice. Yes, she has her way with the words. But it gets tiring to hear First World problems from a bourgeoisie, story after story. I understand she mocks society, but in a very snobbish way. Because her melancholy is so superior. How those damsels in her story search for their Liberty and feminism, and all marriages are like cages, and every men is so either empty or cruel. And at the same time, how helpless they are! (Yawning). It for boring fast.

The performance was laughable. Do you remember the soap operas from the 20's with the overreactions and exaggerated onomatopoeia? music themes used at all times...All the motivations extensively explained. a Psychologist who is not sure she has raised a psychopath until she was 15. and the list goes on.

Historia
Just like Superman, followers of Christ have the supernatural ability to conquer the challenges we face. But the problem for both Superman and us is there's a kryptonite that steals our strength. Of course, both Superman and kryptonite are fictional. But spiritual kryptonite is not. This book offers answers to why so many people - and the churches they attend - are unable to experience the divine strength that was evident among the first-century Christians. In Killing Kryptonite, John Bevere reveals what this kryptonite is and how to break free from its bondage.

Read with cautious there are good and bad points
Revisado: 09-10-18
Was a pleasure to hear the first and last chapter of the book. The plot is prepared, however, a have a few issues with the development of core ideas. Some points are politically motivated, which make the position blurred, trying to redefine right and wrong without any empathy. And he misused the word legalism many times, nor knowing its definition, compromising the developments of ideas over a few chapters.
