Historia
Dalinar Kholin's Alethi armies won a fleeting victory at a terrible cost. The enemy Parshendi summoned the violent Everstorm, which now sweeps the world with destruction and in its passing awakens the once peaceful and subservient parshmen to the horror of their millennia-long enslavement by humans. While on a desperate flight to warn his family of the threat, Kaladin Stormblessed must come to grips with the fact that the newly kindled anger of the parshmen may be wholly justified.

The ending was breathless. As in, I held my breath for the last few chapters as they moved so fast.

Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Great world building
Revisado: 02-25-25
The narrators do a great job with different voices. Great world building. This the first in a series. This series is part of a larger world building called the Cosmere: Stormlight Archives; Mistborn; Elantris. Each have their own “magic” system.

Historia
We have all pondered seemingly unanswerably but significant questions about our existence - the biggest of all being, "Why are we here?" Philosophy has developed over millennia to help us grapple with these essential intangibles. There is no better way to study the big questions in philosophy than to compare how the world's greatest minds have analyzed these questions, defined the terms, and then reasoned out potential solutions. Once you've compared the arguments, the final step is always deciding for yourself whether you find an explanation convincing.

I wish I had this listened to this back in University, before I took a class in Philosophy. I would have appreciated it so much more. This lecture made me want to learn more about philosophy and it’s repeated topics: ethics,
political theory, and metaphysics.

The 2nd book in the next series
Revisado: 11-09-21
I’ll hold off on final judgement after I finish the third installment.
If you don’t know already, this is a separate and mostly independent story arch in the Amaranthe universe. I still suggest reading the first nine Amaranthe books first before going to this series as there are a few references to ancient past.
The voice acting is great as usual, consistent across all the books so far.

This brilliant new treatment of the world's oldest epic is a literary event on par with Seamus Heaney's wildly popular Beowulf translation. Esteemed translator and best-selling author Stephen Mitchell energizes a heroic tale so old it predates Homer's Iliad by more than a millennium.

My title is paraphrase from the authors end notes. His goal was to raise it to good English prose, rather than a translation. This make is much easier to listen.
His end notes are an important part of the book.

Historia
Among the ashes of a dying world, an agent of the Commandment finds a letter. It reads: Burn before reading. Thus begins an unlikely correspondence between two rival agents hellbent on securing the best possible future for their warring factions. Now, what began as a taunt, a battlefield boast, becomes something more. Something epic. Something romantic. Something that could change the past and the future. Except the discovery of their bond would mean the death of each of them. There’s still a war going on, after all. And someone has to win. That’s how war works, right?
