Type A special agent Kate O’Hare and international criminal Nick Fox have brought down some of the biggest bad guys out there. But now they face their most dangerous foe yet - a vast, shadowy international organization known only as the Brotherhood. Directly descended from the Vatican Bank priests who served Hitler during World War II, the Brotherhood is on a frantic search for a lost train loaded with $30 billion in Nazi gold, untouched for over seventy-five years somewhere in the mountains of Eastern Europe.

Bad narration for bad story
Revisado: 12-06-24
Inane simplistic story. I used to like Evanovich but if this is her new story style, it will be the last one I will ever buy.
Scott Brick is a TERRIBLE narrator. Unfortunately I look at author and not narrator, but I recognized his horrible voice and tempo almost immediately.

Worst of the series
Revisado: 12-05-24
This just drags and drags, with way too much touchy-feely explorations of starfleet officer feelings and way too little progress on the alien front.
I quit halfway through. I just could take it any more... and I am an affirmed Trekkie!

Historia
For dinosaurs, it was a big rock. For humans: Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). When the Earth is hit by the greatest CME in recorded history (several times larger than the Carrington Event of 1859), the combined societies of the planet's most developed nations struggle to adapt to a life thrust back into the Dark Ages. In the United States, the military scrambles to speed the nation's recovery on multiple fronts including putting down riots, establishing relief camps, delivering medical aid, and bringing communication and travel back on line. Just as a real foothold is established in retaking the skies (utilizing existing commercial aircraft supplemented by military resources and ground control systems), a mysterious virus takes hold of the population, spreading globally over the very flight routes that the survivors fought so hard to rebuild.

Narration was a problem
Revisado: 08-26-24
Much of the story was by a woman and the male narrator made no distinction when talking often making confusing who was speaking.
Regardless I am not a fan of post apocalyptic novels but this one was very good !

My Least Favorite Private
Revisado: 07-16-24
The reader was horrible on this. He jumped from one character to another with no pause to give time to digest (either the audience or the person being spoken to), making it way too clear that he was just reading a book. There was no drama from him.
The story was also much weaker than the other Private books. All-in-all I quit half-way through, deciding I had taken enough punishment...

Historia
Rook is given the honor to be a visiting professor at his alma mater, and he can't pass up the opportunity to mentor burgeoning writers at his former award-winning college newspaper. Shortly after his arrival on campus, a female reporter for the paper is found dead - naked - in Rook's bed. Dealing with betrayal from any man is not Nikki's style. She and Jameson have had plenty of conflicts during their complicated relationship, but none like this. Is her husband keeping secrets of his own, or can she really trust him?

Historia
Firefly's early demise left fans with a deep sense of loss and plenty of unanswered questions. From what was wrong with the pilot to what was right with the Reavers, from the use of Chinese to how correspondence between Joss and network executives might have gone, from a philosopher's perspective on "Objects in Space" to a sex therapist's analysis of Inara, Finding Serenity is filled with writing as exciting, funny, and enthralling as the show itself.
