Historia
Belisarius is a quantum man, an engineered Homo quantus who fled the powerful insight of dangerously addictive quantum senses. He found a precarious balance as a con man, but when a client offers him untold wealth to move a squadron of warships across an enemy wormhole, he must embrace his birthright to even try. In fact, the job is so big that he'll need a crew built from all the new sub-branches of humanity. If he succeeds, he might trigger an interstellar war, but success might also point the way to the next step of Homo quantus evolution.

Mouth noises overshadow the story
Revisado: 11-23-19
"I forced myself to listen to the first few hours but couldn't finish the book. The constant lip-smacking, breathing, and various mouth noises were distracting and made it impossible to finish.
It would be unfair to comment on the story since I didn't complete it. Nevertheless I'd be willing to give it a second chance and read a hard copy.
I am asking for a refund will not purchase another audio book read by this narrator."

Historia
After being horribly mistreated at a government animal-research facility, Snitter and Rowf escape into the isolation—and terror—of the wilderness. Aided only by a fox they call “the tod,” the two dogs must struggle to survive in their new environment. When the starving dogs attack some sheep, they are labeled ferocious man-eating monsters, setting off a great dog hunt that is later intensified by the fear that the dogs could be carriers of the bubonic plague.

Slow Starter
Revisado: 04-10-14
Would you try another book from Richard Adams and/or Ralph Cosham?
No.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Although the story concerned more than just dogs, they were the main reason I finished the book at all. However the book started slowly and it took a while to get to that point. I found much of the geographic and politic detail to be unnecessary. In my mind it bogged down the story and didn't progress the plot line.
What didn’t you like about Ralph Cosham’s performance?
The voices used for many of the characters were heavily accented and frequently difficult to understand. Fortunately this was not the case for the two main dogs in the book which is why I was able to finish the story.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
No. The inhumane method in which the animals were treated was unnecessarily cruel and frankly a little bit difficult to believe. Additionally, the "tests" performed on the animals were ridiculously absurd. I thought it was obvious the author did no research at all concerning the treatment of animals at the facilities that he attempts to describe. I personally know of an animal researcher and she is one of the kindest, most thoughtful individuals I know. She speaks highly of the animals she works with and informs me that there are rules and regulations governing their treatment.
Any additional comments?
Although I finished it, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. One of the few redeeming qualities of the book was that it had a fairly good ending. Unfortunately, the journey to get there was painful.

Historia
What would you do if, through an unexpected twist of fate and time, you came face to face with Jesus of Nazareth? In the flesh. A living, breathing, three-dimensional figure with a disconcertingly casual manner. When you had pinched yourself to make sure that you weren't dreaming and found that he was still there, would you turn your back and walk away - or would you try to find out what he was doing so far from home? That was the decision facing Leo Resnick, a smart young Manhattan lawyer, and his girlfriend, Dr Miriam Maxwell.

Jesus drops an "F" bomb.
Revisado: 12-11-13
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
This book might be better suited for an audience that does not hold Jesus Christ in the same high regard as I. Listen to this at your own risk.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
The narrator did a fine job. I have no complaints with his performance.
Any additional comments?
I hate writing bad reviews, especially when I haven't finished listening to an audiobook. However, when I saw that no one else had had written a review for this title, I decided to be the first. Had I read any Audible reviews, I could've saved myself time and money and looked elsewhere for an audiobook appropriate to my tastes.
I made it to the two hour mark with this audiobook before I gave up. In that time, I heard the author take God's name in vain several times, heard Jesus drop the "F' bomb, and heard Jesus explain that he's really a stranded alien from a parallel universe. Further, he rejects the plain teaching of Genesis' creation message, and instead inserts a pre-existing race of beings who lived on the earth before Adam and Eve.
Whether the listener is a young-earth creationist, an old-earth evolutionist, or something in between is irrelevant. The question is what did Jesus believe? Since evolutionary thinking didn't emerge until 1,800 years after his crucifixion, Jesus must have been a creationist. If the author wishes Jesus is to be believable, he must act in character. Sadly, he did not.
I am not easily offended. I have read a thousand paperbacks and listened to a hundred audiobooks. The majority of my reading and listening focuses on horror, fantasy, and science fiction. Having stated that, I can say that it is one thing to hear profanity spoken within the context of a military or horror novel. It is quite another thing entirely to hear the "F" bomb dropped indiscriminately by the Son of God. This is a glaring example of Jesus acting out of character.

Great Christian Science Fiction
Revisado: 12-21-09
I enjoyed this book. This novel displays a lot of research by the author and he does a great job of setting an authentic tone to a story which centers around NASA in the mid 1970's. It is an alternate history novel and I found it fun to hear how the Apollo 19 mission might have turned out. I was interested from the opening scene until the explanatory climax. As an added bonus, there is an Author's Note at the end of the book which gives some interesting insight into both the novel's factual and speculative details.
I found this book under the Audible category, "Fiction: Religious & Inspirational" so I was not surprised by the Christian theme of the book, though I would personally stop short of calling it "proselytizing." One of the minor storylines does involve the spiritual introspection of a central character, Logan, but this does not develop prominence until the end of the book. Frankly, I enjoy listening to well written science fiction novels which have Biblically based, Christian ideas. Good authors such as Shane Johnson are few and far between.
I gave the audiobook 4 stars because I found the narrator to be a bit choppy as he spoke. It took several hours to get used to his staccato tempo, so I could never quite shake the feeling that I was being "read to." I always listen to the audio book sample before buying, so I was prepared. I suggest that prospective buyers do the same. Overall, however, I highly recommend this book to sci-fi lovers - especially those of the Christian faith. This is an entertaining ride with a twist ending that most readers will never see coming. Give it a chance; I don't think you'll be disappointed.
