Historia
Wealthy Sir Hubert Handesley's original and lively weekend house parties are deservedly famous. To amuse his guests, he has devised a new form of the fashionable Murder Game, in which a guest is secretly selected to commit a 'murder' in the dark, and everyone assembles to solve the crime. But when the lights go up this time, there is a real corpse....

I quite liked this murder mystery. Good narration too. Ngaio Marsh writes a nice, complicated country house murder mystery. Definitely one of the Golden Age of Mysteries authors.

Historia
As yuletide settles upon Gwenafwy Abbey, the rural Welsh convent's peace is shattered when Tiffany Reese, president of the Village Art Society, is found dead on the floor of the parish hall. Sister Agatha, whose interests lie more with reading and writing mystery stories than with making the abbey's world-renowned organic gouda, is not shy about inserting herself into the case. With the not-entirely eager assistance of Father Selwyn, she begins her investigation.

Historia
Having long abandoned any hope of making a match, 26-year-old Beatrice Hyde Clare finds herself a little overwhelmed by her engagement to the Duke of Kesgrave. Cloying society matrons clamor for her attention while her aunt reels off an endless list of servants she will have to oversee. Even the most intrepid female would quake at the prospect of managing eight footmen! Fortunately, Bea knows the perfect distraction - an intriguing mystery - and pays a call on the Countess of Abercrombie, who had promised her that very thing only the evening before.

A Satisfying Mystery

I did see the culprit rather early on in this one but watching the delightful banter between Bea and Kesgrave was well worth it.

Historia
Having solved the two murders that somehow fell in her path, Beatrice Hyde-Clare is on the lookout for a third. Through a absurd quirk of stupid fate, the shy spinster has fallen in love with the thoroughly unattainable Duke of Kesgrave and is desperate for something, anything, to occupy her mind. A dead body would do nicely.

Delightful
Revisado: 12-02-20
I especially liked how this entry in this thoroughly delightful series highlighted the injustice of the patriarchy in Regency England. Also, I am glad the author has progressed the romance in a realistic way without undue histrionics.

Historia
As much as Beatrice Hyde-Clare relished the challenge of figuring out who murdered a fellow guest during a house party in the Lake District, she certainly does not consider herself an amateur investigator. So when a London dandy falls dead at her feet in the entryway of a London Daily Gazette, she feels no compulsion to investigate. It was a newspaper office, after all, and reporters are already on the case as are the authorities.

Historia
Twenty-six-year-old Beatrice Hyde-Clare is far too shy to investigate the suspicious death of a fellow guest in the Lake District. A spinster who lives on the sufferance of her relatives, she would certainly not presume to search the rooms of her host's son and his friend looking for evidence. Reared in the twin virtues of deference and docility, she would absolutely never think to question the imperious Duke of Kesgrave about anything, let alone how he chose to represent the incident to the local constable. And yet that's exactly what she does.

I have now read all the books in this charming series and highly recommend it to anyone who loves a spunky heroine and a good murder! Especially those who enjoy Marion Chesney/MC Beaton, Rhys Bowen, or Agatha Christie.

Historia
The former Beatrice Hyde-Clare is having a little trouble adjusting to her new situation. Now installed as the duchess of Kesgrave in elegant splendor in Berkeley Square, she is confounded by the stately residence’s seemingly endless array of rooms. And every time one of the maids addresses her as "your grace", she flinches.

Revisado: 12-02-20
I honestly can't remember the last time I finished a six book series in less than a week. I have been thoroughly captivated by the characters in this Regency era murder mystery/romance series. I sincerely hope Ms. Messina will write many more books exploring the further adventures of Bea and her Duke!

Historia
Having inexplicably nabbed the duke of Kesgrave, 26-year-old spinster Beatrice Hyde-Clare is determined to marry him at once, and no amount of hand-wringing from anxious family members, worried friends, and well-meaning acquaintances will convince her to delay. Except, maybe, she is a little swayed by her uncle’s efforts to make amends for treating her with cold indifference during her childhood.

I am a dedicated Audible listener and this is the first series in several years that I have enjoyed so thoroughly. The interplay between Bea and her Lord are infectious and highly entertaining. I'm sad there is only one more book. The narrator is also excellent, especially with the men's voices.

When she discovers the body of Angela Nash, an elderly woman, in the old Tilamu house, Cara can't help poking her nose into the investigation. Historia
They say family always sticks together, but when you're your dad's only lifeline and the whole world - humans, dragons, and gods - wants you dead, "family bonding" takes on a whole new meaning. My name is Opal Yong-ae, and I'm in way over my head. I thought getting rid of my dad's bad luck curse would put things back to normal. Instead, I'm stuck playing caretaker to the Great Dragon of Korea. That wouldn’t be so bad if he wasn't such a jerk, or if every dragon on the planet wasn't out to kill him, or if he was my only problem.

Strong Finish to an Excellent Series!
Revisado: 07-04-20
Very well done! Maybe even the best book of the series! So often I have been disappointed in the final book in a trilogy but this book ends very strong with especially good character development in almost all the characters! I also enjoyed brief cameos from the Heartstriker series, a little weird to hear them sound different - but understandable with different narrators.
