Historia
It’s just a small picture in the local paper—Katie can’t explain why it sets her heart racing. But hiding the photo of local GP Joe Harvey in her bag sets in motion a chain of events that will dramatically alter her life forever. Driven by a unhealthy desire for a man she hardly knows, the mother of two begins to worm her way into Joe’s life, knowing it’s reckless but still unable to control herself. As her obsession intensifies, Katie’s world becomes increasingly stressful and she’s forced to cover her tracks by lying to everyone around her.

A story about a bunch of jerks w no ending
Revisado: 03-19-25
While the book did hold my interest, it ended so fast and there was no resolution about anything. Also, the entire family that the story revolves around r equally terrible people so it’s hard to root for anyone.

What the?? Part of the storyline completely missing
Revisado: 04-06-24
Never attempting another one of Rick Mofinas books again. Completely drawn out, an entire side storyline glossed over and never addressed. And the ending didn’t make sense. Not in a “I don’t get it” kind of way but a “really? That was it?” And so many details of how the kidnapper pulled it off were never explained. Would not recommend even a little. Wish I could get my time and money back.

How do I get my money back
Revisado: 11-13-23
I was able to overlook the overly unrealistic and ridiculous relationship dynamics but when the mother gets detained by police for hitting (tapping) her own son on the butt after he recklessly disobeyed his parent, I had to call it. CMON. You are telling me that any police officer EVER would arrest a mother w 2 young children bc some random Karen on the street complained aka didn’t mind her own business? And the mother just took it? Didn’t tell the Karen to get lost? I’m all about books not needing to be super realistic but unfortunately this one isn’t even bearable.

Story was fine, predictable but I liked it, narrators made it much worse
Revisado: 09-13-23
Wow, I listen to several audiobooks monthly and have had some cringy narrators before but this was the worst. The NYC accents made some of the characters sound like they had a speech impediment, it was almost laughable. I tried to block it out but it was really bad and obnoxious.

Terrible…with a lack of ending
Revisado: 06-19-23
First of all, the book just ends. Maybe to leave room for a sequel but that will not be a book I read. Spoilers to follow but essentially this entire story is about a social media influencer who just wants to be friends w another influencer who she admires so she goes on this influencer retreat where she meets her and then is upset bc the chick doesn’t want to be friends w her or something and that leads her to basically fake her own death. And a side plot is the girls best friend (also on retreat and am influencer) kissed her husband once and regretted it, etc and I guess that adds to her faking her own death too?
Honestly I kept waiting for something to happen but all I got was, a girl didn’t want to be friends w someone and then someone kissed (not even slept w) her husband and this was all grounds to fake a death.
Just save your time and credit. I have more questions than answers for this one.

Lame plot, bad narrating and a worse ending
Revisado: 04-22-23
I really tried to like it and I don’t mind some unrealistic vibes in a story (it’s fiction after all) but this went far beyond enjoyable and more towards “oh yea right” and “what?”. The ending was awful.

I want my credit back
Revisado: 04-11-23
That’s what I get for trying a book w no reviews (at the time I’m writing this). I’m really not sure which was worse: the predictable storyline w zero likable characters OR the narrators non emotional reading (I can’t even call it a performance). The narration was next level terrible and I’m not sure how much worse it made the actual story but honestly, the story didn’t need too much to push it from pretty bad to basically unlistenable. If you still decide to listen after reading this, don’t say you weren’t warned.

Don’t waste your time or money
Revisado: 05-23-22
I’ve never written a book so I’d hate to bash on someone’s livelihood but it was terrible. It felt more like a book for teens, or like a teenager wrote it. And I’m not sure if it was the story that was so bad or if the narrator made it worse than it was. Are the other reviews fake bc these people raving about the garbage I just listened to made me question the validity of the reviews on audible. I have been passing on books solely bc they had the same narrator. She just sounded pissed off the whole time and it made her character seem angry all the time and overall just unlikeable. I rolled my eyes countless times throughout the book and finally pulled the plug w 10 mins left bc I couldn’t listen to it another minute. Hopefully seeing this saves someone else’s time and money.
