Filler book
Revisado: 04-22-25
This book is just a repeat of the others with the character names changed. Although the story is good, it's very disappointing that Mr. Haywood just repeated the other stories. The narrator is great as usual. I'll be trying to get my credit back for this one.

Not 32 1/2 hrs
Revisado: 01-20-25
I used a credit thinking I would get 32 hrs of story, but its only about 19 1/2. I thought the premise was a bit ridiculous but it did have action if thats what your looking for. "Zombies" that fight back. As always I thought RC Bray did an incredible job at narration, wish he did all the books I listen to.

Historia
It's supposed to be a simple job, a look-see operation to make sure something terrible hasn't happened. The leader is prone to fits of violence, and there are rumors of previous human rights abuses. Only, when they arrive, the ship is...empty. The question is - where did everybody go? Armed only with riot gear, they explore the ship, intent on discovering the truth about what's happened on The Ark. What they find will be more nightmarish than anything they've seen before. Indeed, it's worse than anything they could imagine.

Space zombies, oh heck yea lol. I enjoyed the story and would have used a credit for it.
I thought the narrator did a good job, he actually performed the book rather than just read it.

I was given this book for free from audiobook boom and asked to leave an unbiased review for the author and narrator.
I don’t know if it was the writing or the way the narrator performed the story, but it came off as kinda juvenile writing to me, more of a YA novel than adult. I wouldn’t have used a credit on it. Production is off and has multiple repeats, but the narrator did a good job, he actually performed the book rather than just read it.

don't waste the credit
Revisado: 07-26-24
I was very let down with this book, in my opinion it was filler to make money. I enjoyed the 1st book so wasted a credit on this one, the 2nd. It was pretty boring with the majority of the book being Cyrus on his own, then he meets another survivor and they stay put for most of the book. Even the zombie encounters were boring. There was really nothing, in my opinion, that continued the story until the end.

I was given this book for free from audiobook boom and asked to leave an unbiased review for the author and narrator.
I listened to the whole book although I couldn’t get into it. Even if your writing about zombies or aliens invading Earth you need to make the story as believable as possible. A Navy Seal walking down the road with his “girlfriend”, a vehicle pulls up and the driver, a man, offers them a ride. The Seal has a bad feeling about the whole situation, but gets in the vehicle “just to see what happens”. A group of people running through the woods yet animals walk past them; a group of 4 people moving through the woods talking, yet a skunk walks by one of the guys. Anyone who has ever been in the woods knows that animals would bolt and hide, not casually walk by a person. Also don’t use the same “scene” repeatedly. Right now I’m still towards the beginning of the story and this has already happened 3 times.
The narrator was just reading the book, he made no attempt at performing the story. The guy has a pleasant voice and I could definitely listen to his voice narrating, but I get bored easily when the narrator just reads the book. McGraw made no attempt to change his voice for various characters so you have to really pay attention to know who is speaking rather than just fading into the story. He may have been trying for different inflections, but he didn’t hit the mark. You have a terrified woman running and trying to hide from a group of killers, she is freaking out, but “her scenes” sound just like every other part of the book. Also I am really big on pronunciation, its commandeer not commander a vehicle. The kickback from a rifle is not enough to dislocate a shoulder no matter how old you are, shotgun yes, rifle no. A mulberry tree covered in ice in the middle of winter is not going to have berries on it. Yea, there’s way too many inconsistencies to keep listing them.

I can’t comment on the story as I couldn’t get past the first few chapters because of the narration and production.
The narrator was just reading the book, he made no attempt at performing the story. I don’t know who produced or editing the audio, but there was all kinds of mistakes in it which made it not enjoyable.

Historia
There are dark places in the forest.... Cold, sun-starved places where man wasn’t meant to go. But the hunters didn't—couldn’t—know that. They just knew what their leader had told them that the expedition was meant to test their mettle, to separate the men from the boys. Four men went into the forest that day, entering the valley where the ancient evil hid. And when the winds came to collect them, when the animals they slew refused to die, they quickly learned who among them was weakest and strongest.

The story starts out very slow and I admit I skipped through the first few chapters. Overall it wasn’t too bad I just lost a lot of interest since it didn’t get good till the end.
The narrator did a pretty good job, in my opinion he needs to work on his accents and different character voices, but his voice is pleasant and very easy to listen to.

I listened to books 1 & 2, didn’t get book 3, and went into this one book 4. At least this one had a story line to it, but I still wouldn’t have spent a credit on any of them. If you like listening to nothing but killing and the description of how its done then you will probably like this book.
I like the narrator. He did another series that I absolutely love so I have a special place in my heart for him lol.

Historia
The best part about a book, is that moment you can put it down, and say at least that can't happen in real life, until now. The Uninvited will leave you checking your doors, locking your windows and skipping the weekend camping trip. Meet the stranger, a killer who is unbiased about who it chooses to be the victim, and never tires of the killing. If Dexter and Leatherface had a baby, The Uninvited would be their offspring.

If you like listening to nothing but killing and the description of how its done then you will probably like this book. I didn’t really like the story, because in my opinion there really wasn’t an actual story, it was a serial killer on a rampage. It starts with the father, mother, son then goes straight into the killer going on a rampage, no back story no story about the family nothing. I would have appreciated that and think it would have actually built the story. I don’t know if I missed something, but I believe this is supposed to be the 1st book in the story, and of course it ends with no explanation to lead you into the next book.
I like the narrator. He did another series that I absolutely love so I have a special place in my heart for him lol.
