Historia
"Most people think of love as a feeling," says David Richo, "but love is not so much a feeling as a way of being present." In this audiobook, Richo offers a fresh perspective on love and relationships - one that focuses not on finding an ideal mate, but on becoming a more loving and realistic person. Drawing on the Buddhist concept of mindfulness, How to Be an Adult in Relationships explores five hallmarks of mindful loving and how they play a key role in our relationships throughout life.

Not for beginners?
Revisado: 02-15-23
I have read a variety of self-improvement/spirituality/relationship books over the years. This is the BEST. Probably not for the beginning of your journey; idk. It's not like the others, where it explains what you are doing wrong with simple stories that you try to compare to your own life. It's more of a guide to how we SHOULD be feeling an treating others right now. Easily helps you to see where you are in your life, the things you have mastered, and the areas you still need to progress in. Very deep thoughts and lessons for life. Definitely a MUST READ. I listened twice just to make sure I took it all in. I may give it a 3rd go,

Great?
Revisado: 11-19-22
The stories are great. You have to get used to the narrator, though. He's got a great sound, but is a bit staccato. Sounds robotic at points, perfectly fine in others. It's one of my favorites, so far.

the best
Revisado: 11-18-22
I love the unexplained because it gives my brain something to roll around. BUT, I can't do too much talkie, talkie. That's why I LOVE this! Don't tell me it's unexplained, then explain it to me. 🤣 The narrator does a great job. Great voice. Great tone & speed.

Historia
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....

Surprised!
Revisado: 11-06-22
The language seemed a bit unnecessary, but the content is wonderful, informative. and easy to understand (even the more technical things). Great if you're looking for help, but simply can't read another slow, boring, self-help book.
