Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

This paramecium likes
Revisado: 12-13-24
Good story line overall. Think the introduction to Skippy might have been a little longer, but still like the twist overall. And the narrator just takes it over the top. Looking forward to the next in the series.

The narrator makes the book...sorta
Revisado: 03-25-24
Well, IMHO. Bray just seems to pick up on the snarky dialogue and smoothly switches personas as the plot unfolds. You really have to listen to keep up.
Ok, some bias here...have to admit to being a DF fan as well.
Worth listening to the entire series, that hopefully, has yet another title.

A struggle to get through.
Revisado: 07-15-23
A large part of the struggle was the performance. It sounded like I was listening to some junior high schooler. Beyond that, as others have noted, certainly not in the top of it's genre and not even on par with some of the author's other works. One and done for me.

Historia
Known as Monsanto's Roundup by consumers, and as glyphosate by scientists, the world's most popular weed killer is used everywhere from backyard gardens to golf courses to millions of acres of farmland. For decades it's been touted as safe enough to drink, but a growing body of evidence indicates just the opposite, with research tying the chemical to cancers and a host of other health threats. In Whitewash, veteran journalist Carey Gillam uncovers one of the most controversial stories in the history of food and agriculture, exposing new evidence of corporate influence.

Five hours should do it...
Revisado: 06-15-22
Which is about as far as I got before disengaging.
I'm sure the author spent years researching and compiling the facts of the story. And it is a compelling and damning expose of corporate greed and regulatory malfeasance (shall we agree on deep state?).
But after five hours, it seems that I am hearing the same facts presented over again. Perhaps it's the intricate details that, for me at least, I need to see on paper, document, see patterns. Since most of my listening is while in the vehicle, I can't do eyes to paper analysis. Maybe.

Historia
The Martian meets Gravity when Army Pilot Vaughn Singleton, Earth’s last man, rushes to Area 51 in search of a spaceplane after he discovers the last woman is stranded on the International Space Station and barely alive - thus beginning a race against time. The event that wiped life from the planet started at the supercollider. It created a rift in space-time. The astronaut stranded aboard the space station, Commander Angela Brown, is a theoretical physicist who used to work at the collider.

When is the next in the series out...
Revisado: 02-19-18
Would you listen to Solitude again? Why?
I have it stored away and will most likely come back to it again. If nothing else, as a refresher for when the next portion of the series is released.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Solitude?
Too many to list.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. I usually listen to books while driving...back and forth to the office, running errands. In this case, I found myself just sitting in the car sometimes listening.
Any additional comments?
As the headline said. When is the next in the series due out? And the one after...
