Historia
From the New York Times best-selling author of Seven Brief Lessons on Physics, The Order of Time, and Helgoland, a closer look at the mind-bending nature of the Universe. What are the elementary ingredients of the world? Do time and space exist? And what exactly is reality? Theoretical physicist Carlo Rovelli has spent his life exploring these questions. He tells us how our understanding of reality has changed over the centuries and how physicists think about the structure of the Universe today.

The Best Book I've Ever Read!
Revisado: 09-21-18
Hey Readers,
I have a Platinum membership with Audible, which I renew about three times yearly and that's a lot of books!
Carlo Rovelli's book, Reality Is Not What It Seems is hands down the best book I've ever listened to. I'm very interested in quantum physics and loop quantum gravity but have never been able to find anything written about it that made sense and was interesting. Carlo Rovelli, and his team of translators and narrator have done a incredible job of communicating the unknown into an interesting, understandable and captivating work of art. Their skills are a gift in communication seldom reached by mortal man. Mr. Rovelli integrates the scientific approach in a humorous and down-to-earth way, and you've got to listen to this if you have any interest at all in learning about our universe and how it works.
Respectfully,

Historia
Tornadoes, cyclones, tsunamis… Weather can be deadly – especially when it strikes without warning. Millions of Americans could soon find themselves at the mercy of violent weather if the public data behind lifesaving storm alerts gets privatized for personal gain. In his first Audible Original feature, New York Times best-selling author and journalist Michael Lewis delivers hard-hitting research on not-so-random weather data – and how Washington plans to release it.

Interesting but Undinished
Revisado: 08-20-18
The book was interesting, well written and well read. But when finished I felt many issues were unresolved. It did awaken me to the mega data the US Government holds, which may be driven by self serving politics.
Gosh, where are our leaders... those with above average intellect who want to put humanity first😟

Historia
Ulysses S. Grant's life has typically been misunderstood. All too often he is caricatured as a chronic loser and an inept businessman or as the triumphant but brutal Union general of the Civil War. But these stereotypes don't come close to capturing him, as Chernow reveals in his masterful biography, the first to provide a complete understanding of the general and president whose fortunes rose and fell with dizzying speed and frequency.

A historical and cival war book not to be missed!
Revisado: 07-27-18
I saw this book on the list quite awhile ago and though, "just another civil war book".
But this is an incredible history of the era and the major players, and great depth and personality into Mr. Grant. This book is the best book I've read on the civil war and Grant's presidency.
And Mark Bramhall isn't reading the book, he's telling the story.
Highly recommended!

Like it or not, your every move is being watched and analyzed. Consumers' identities are being stolen, and a person's every step is being tracked and stored. What once might have been dismissed as paranoia is now a hard truth, and privacy is a luxury few can afford or understand. In this explosive yet practical book, Kevin Mitnick illustrates what is happening without your knowledge - and he teaches you "the art of invisibility".

Interesting book
Revisado: 07-27-18
Makes you realize it's pretty much impossible to be invisible in cyber space and not end up sitting in a Federal office to explain why we're trying. And of course Ray Porter can turn an encyclopedia into a great story! :)

Historia
Forty years ago Israeli psychologists Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky wrote a series of breathtakingly original studies undoing our assumptions about the decision-making process. Their papers showed the ways in which the human mind erred systematically when forced to make judgments about uncertain situations. Their work created the field of behavioral economics, revolutionized Big Data studies, advanced evidence-based medicine, led to a new approach to government regulation, and made Michael Lewis' work possible.

Good listening

The books narration is excellent. The story is ok but not very exciting. It tends to drag on.
And granted I'm not the most patient listener.
