Historia
Returning to her hometown after the funeral of her parents, writer Erica Falck finds a community on the brink of tragedy. The death of her childhood friend, Alex, is just the beginning. Her wrists slashed, her body frozen in an ice cold bath, it seems that she has taken her own life. Erica conceives a memoir about the beautiful but remote Alex, one that will answer questions about their lost friendship. While her interest grows to an obsession, local detective Patrik Hedstrom is following his own suspicions about the case.

Cockney accents?
Revisado: 08-11-24
It's annoying enough when narrators are always British, no matter where a story takes place. Is there really no such thing as a Swedish narrator? But what makes this audiobook absolutely unbearable is that ALL the men, no matter young or old, pleasant or annoying, described as handsome or unattractive, they all sound like disgusting, beer-bellied, Cockney-accented old men.

As most of you probably know, this week is the Thanksgiving holiday here in the U.S., and Katie and I both have family stuff to do—people to see, pies to bake. So we took the week off from our regularly scheduled programming. But because we love you and we didn’t want you to miss out on a new episode, we decided to pick out one of our old Patreon-exclusive episodes from 2022. You’ll get a fun episode, and you’ll get a taste of the kind of red-hot content you’re missin’ out on if you’re not on our Patreon yet. These episodes tend to be less formal and more hilarious, and we’ve ...

UNBELIEVABLE!
Revisado: 02-03-24
These girls are hilarious! They add their own editorial comments, but not so much that you say to yourself, "Okay OKAY! Get on with it! "
This particular episode is just too funny for words. I've perused Reddit a couple of times, but became overwhelmed at the sheer amount of content. I decided not to use my valuable time with it. These women found a conversation that was an absolutely CAN'T MISS, which I would have if it hadn't been for this podcast. An absolute GEM!!

Historia
Roger Stringer grew up in rural Mississippi, hunting and eating everything from deer to rabbits. When he had two sons, Zac and Justin, he gave them guns and took them to the woods as well. Then one day when the boys were home alone, he got a call from Zac that Justin had been shot. What follows is an intimate and gripping memoir about the shooting’s aftermath. The story moves between the perspectives of Roger and Zac as they take us through their journey of betrayal, redemption, and ultimately confrontation with a company that had kept its corruption a secret for decades.

Disgraceful
Revisado: 02-01-24
I stumbled across this book while searching for something new and different to read. I had no idea what to expect. As it turns out, I couldn't have found a more powerful, eye- opening, heart- breaking story. I immediately recommended it to my husband, who has a collection of shotguns, rifles and handguns. Besides wanting him to be aware of this family's experience, I thought he might have one of these Winchester rifles. in fact, he did.
What disturbs me the most about this sad tale is the response and reaction of both gun-supporters and the Winchester company. Clearly this family is not trying to make a case against gun ownership, but simply trying to make people aware of a life-threatening design flaw and the terrible cost of not addressing it or recalling any rifle with this flaw. And SHAME, SHAME, SHAME on the Winchester company for choosing greed over quality and safety to their customers!
In our case, my husband will be replacing his rifle and encouraging our children to do the same.

To learn of Putin's rise to power and how he has wielded it is interesting, enlightening, and somewhat terrifying.

what's with the f-word??
Revisado: 01-18-21
I've read all the Sandham books up to this one and while they've been acceptably enjoyable, I couldn't help but notice she has increased her use of the f-word more with each book. It's both disconcerting and unnecessary. especially when the person is yelling it, which seems to be the case much of the time. WHY do authors feel the need to do that??
