This was the wimpiest heroine ever..
Revisado: 01-16-25
First of all...
If one is writing a story about a tough bad-ass heroine, then make her so. All I heard was whining and cry and wanting help like all the time. I do not see any strength and over coming the odds in this character. I can tell the author never played a competitive sport before cause it shows in the extreme lack of discipline in her character.
if someone was kidnap and brain washed they would be more robotic and not so much as a whinny emotional teenager. Try Again! do research cause I thought the main character was too stupid to ever be an assassins.

Needs a male narrator!
Revisado: 02-11-23
I love the story. It's unusual and creative. BUT this storyline desperately needs a male narrator. 97% of the cast is male! and the narrator is female with very little if not at all a difference in her voices. I had to rewind this book so many times just to understand who is talking. It's very frustrating. The story is awesome going forward. Please get a male narrator to do the male voices. Otherwise no one can tell which character is talking. The narrator is fine for females, not at all for males.

Magic doesn’t lie. Witches do. Our Coven Leader is dead...and they think I killed him. I didn’t. I would never have hurt him. I tried everything I could to save him. But it’s their word against mine. And with his blood staining my hands and caked in my hair, I don’t know how I’m going to get them to believe me....

Why does the accent change with internal thoughts
Revisado: 12-14-21
I really like the story. I just can't get past how everyone's inner monolog has the narrators same voice! There's a British character that has a British accent when he speaks out loud, but in his mind he is speaking like a female American chick! Disappointing it is the same with every single character. All of the characters inner voice ( no matter their gender or ethnicity) is the same female voice. It does become confusing of who is talking at times. I blame the director in this endeavor. I heard this narrator before and she does a good job. This just was a terrible call on the director's perspective.

Narration can make or break it. It broke it
Revisado: 10-27-17
I strongly recommend that Audible gets a new narrator and release the book or else they will get a lot of returns on their hands. Performance is completely horrible! I still have 4 hours left to go on the book and I am gritting my teeth just to get through it! Honestly this is the worst I have ever heard. I don't like to criticize narrators harshly because I know its not easy and I wouldn't be able to do a good job, but this is just terrible. Completely wrong narrator for this book.
1) the main characters voice is very young and whining sounding not appealing at all. I felt extremely uncomfortable listening to the explicit scenes in such a baby voice, it felt like the character was way too young and immature to be engaging in sexual activities. So much cringe and creepiness, I feel like its almost illegal to even listen to it - ugh!
2) The male voices were horrible as well, one monotone voice that sounds robotic at all times no matter the situation, Ben Stein would have had more range of feeling.
3) Story line wise, there are too many back to back sexual scenes, needs to be broken up and spaced out more, too much sex at once can get boring to listen to. And also there are too many sexual scenarios that closely copies FSOG .
I would pass on this one until or if they change narrators.

Be careful what you wish for. To save them all a wish was made, only delaying the war rather than ending it. The battle between good and evil has come to an end - or has it? A thousand years separate a young priestess and her five guardians, brothers who have sworn to protect her. A single brother remains with his memories intact, waiting for the time when Hyakuhei, the heart of evil itself, will arise and attempt to steal the very reason for their existence.

This is a complete rip off of Inuyasha!
Revisado: 05-13-15
I'm kinda shocked this story line is not at all original. It is completely following the anime cartoon of Inuyasha with very little differences, few extra characters and name changes and that's about it. The plot is a priestess who is the protector of the crystal heart is born 1,000 years in the future. She travels back through time to her 5 half- demon guardians in the demon realm through a priestess shrine. In the demon realm they must find jewel shards before evil collects all the shards and will be able to allow demons to go to the human realm. Yeah I saw this all before in my insomnia days of college well over a decade ago.
Also the narrator does an awful female voice, very annoying.

It wasn't that good...
Revisado: 05-17-14
I picked this one up in the hidden gem sale, and I kinda wish I didn't. It had potential but it didn't hit the mark.
A small Celtic village off the Irish coast was raided by Vikings, it left the village in ruin with pretty much no men left. So ten years later women are trying to survive and keep the village going with no luck they collectively can't handle men's work along with their women's work simultaneously. One day the Viking's return or what the women think are Vikings, really just Norsemen to setting in the village and help the Celtic women. The Norsemen are perfect gentlemen helping out with everything and bringing the village and land back to life and all the Celtic women can do is play silly pranks on the men and call them heathen Vikings. It pretty much goes on like this through the whole book. The pranks really just reminded me of college greek week, when sororities and fraternities would prank each other, it was that silly.
It comes out that Ronin the leader of the Norsemen was at the village raid 10 years ago and saved Arienh the ringleader of the Celtic women from being raped from the Viking chasing her that night. He came back for her wanting her to be his wife and she just asks like a totally brat towards him even though she gave up her V-patch to him pretty early on in the book. Once you do that you are considered married and therefore Arienh has no legs to stand on to be such a brat. The whole book is the women struggling to accept the men and once they do...the book is over. I found it rather dull and recommend passing this one over.

Oh wow..the ride continues!
Revisado: 05-09-14
I was very happy at the conclusion of the book, because America definitely had to work for it ! the ride continues with the cat and mouse emotional play with Aspen and Prince Maxon. America is only still in the selection by her and Max defying the King in any way they can and she grows closer to Max, but her past relationship with her personal guard weighs on her. What is one low caste girl to do? Get the book to find out. I think you'll be satisfied in the Selection Trilogy , because I was!

REGIN FOR PRESIDENT!!!
Revisado: 05-09-14
Wow...this book was extra emotional for me because Regin is a total B-A and to have her get emotional was thrilling and exciting at the same time. Regin is fated to the male that has been enslaving the Lorion creatures for years and pretty much was second in command, what is girl suppose to do with that? Well Regin has it covered. I love Regin! and of course Robert Petkoff ... Masterpiece as usual, but extra kudos for having extra voice's for Declan Chase, completely sublime, your talents amaze me! No question this series rules!

Alexandria isn’t sure she’s going to make it to her 18th birthday - to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she’s a goner...and so is Aiden. If that’s not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training" - which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time - she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.

It got my attention....
Revisado: 05-01-14
This series has a bad wrap because the plot like is similar to Vampire Academy series. Yes the series does have similarities, but it break off into its own story. This series is about a hidden society of Greek Gods and their descendants ( I'm a huge fan of Greek mythology). Within the society there is a political cast system with pure blood descendants as the ruling class and the half-blood descendants as the lesser class of guards or servants for the pure bloods. It is law that there cannot be any relations between any pure bloods and half-bloods, any that are caught it is punishable by death. We have our 17 teen year old heroine Alexandria who is a half-blood in school training to be sentinel guard. Trying to catch up in school to graduate after being absent for 3 years while on the run with her mother, gorgeous pure-blood sentinel Aidan agrees to train her. The couple has to fight their forbidden attraction and Alex slowly finds out why her mother was trying to hide her from the covenant, Alex is slated to become the most powerful weapon in their world, but she isn't alone there is another that can harness the same power. Deity kept my attention and it ends in a cliffhanger and I already pre-ordered the next one.

Perfect Blend!
Revisado: 04-30-14
First of all I don't like vampire books, they are very over done in paranormal romance novels, but I completely LOVED this book! I am actually shocked at myself of how much I loved this book. The book was a perfect blend of action, mystery, intrigue and sex.
We have our newly 21 year old Dani Vaughn transferring from her local Maryland community college to a New York school. Days before leaving Dani has strange dreams of biting people and drinking blood, that she chalks up to stress of leaving her long time boy friend and her mother behind to pursue a better college out of state. In New York Dani seems to have become the new catnip for the male gender and is irresistible to any that cross her path, human or vampire alike. Dani slowly learns of her unique heritage and she must be kept a secret. The book is so deliciously intriguing, I think my canines just got longer. The series has fabulous potential and I have the second book in my wish list waiting for it to come out.
