I love that the primary characters in this one were "extended" family, and that the conflicts found in "natural" families weren't ignored. Holly Lynn kept me listening, wanting more. IS there more?

I'm glad I started with the first in the series, so I could know the backstories. The lives led by these characters are fully relatable, while still having "edge of your seat" moments as well as laugh out loud moments, and even happy tears! The narrator does a great job keeping all of the characters distinct, leading me into each of the above-listed emotions. I think there's a third "episode", right? I'm hopeful ☺️

Each chapter is a "how I did it" by a different "on purpose woman", and it's pretty interesting... definitely some good takeaways. The narrator did a great job delivering that Good Stuff, and then at the end of each chapter, I felt bad for her when she had to read out all of the "sales pitch" parts - websites and contact links that make more sense visually in a companion pdf - if you listen on a device that lets you skip to the next chapter, you can just Get To The Good Stuff!

I am So Glad I listened! This is a very sweet growing-up tale that takes place over the course of a single night-and-day. Greg, as the human boy, navigates taking care of a new puppy, and Penny, as the puppy, has an Entire New World to discover! There are just a few scary "aw" moments, and quite a LOT of laugh-out-loud moments, in such a short story! It's a lovely tale, and beautifully told. If you have little ones and access to this recording AND the bound book, you should sit them on your lap and turn the pages while Jenny reads to you. Every character is distinct, and the pace is perfect. Now I just need to know what happens next!
