Creativity, Inc. is a manual for anyone who strives for originality and the first-ever all-access trip into the nerve center of Pixar Animation - into the meetings, postmortems, and “Braintrust” sessions where some of the most successful films in history are made. It is, at heart, a book about creativity - but it is also, as Pixar cofounder and president Ed Catmull writes, “an expression of the ideas that I believe make the best in us possible”.

You need to learn how to be self-disciplined. When you are self-disciplined, you are able to act with intention. You make sure that what you are doing is being done because it is the right thing to do, and it needs to be done. You are not likely to give in to impulse or to fear failure. When you are self-disciplined, you become the person you have always known you can be. Now, you may have your doubts, but try to cast them aside and consider this for a moment: If you are not self-disciplined, you are likely to give in to instant gratification.

Good Basics but Woke/ PC Takes Away from It
Revisado: 12-26-21
The advice in here is fundamentally solid but pretty basic. Not the best or most in depth on this topic. I took away some stars bc the author obviously chose a black person to read for whole reasons. That’s not the worst thing in the world (though it’s a sign the author didn’t have self discipline to be authentic and chose the right person for the job. The worst thing is the guy sounds almost illiterate, you hear him stretching and yawning, and he repeats a sentence as if the book hadn’t been edited by a professional.

Great start but then becomes unfocused
Revisado: 12-22-21
Started off great focusing on the North Star/ destiny aspect of life but then the author lost her North Star with the book and the content became diffused and tries to help you with a wide plethora of common “heal your core wound” lessons. Wish she has just stayed focused and really penetrated the topic more singularly.

You’re probably familiar with the old saying, once bitten, twice shy. It describes a painful uncertainty many of us feel every day as we try to engage with other people. Acts of betrayal from our pasts can lead us into long cycles of wariness and mistrust. An inability to trust wisely can lead us to loneliness and isolation, or worse - putting our trust in the wrong people too easily. The good news is that the ability to trust is both a choice and a skill that you can develop.

Hits the Bullseye with Topic
Revisado: 08-09-21
David Richo hones in on a theme and aspect of life that underlies almost everything. I have been learning how to create healthier, happier and more lasting close relationships by reading a series of books that cover the different aspects of relating: attachment theory, love and now trust. I’m surprised at how quickly this book brought me into contact with my True Self. And how quickly it has helped me in differentiating between people, places and situations that are trustworthy vs. not. Above all, this book really highlighted the so easy to overlook importance of trusting ourselves. Great book, thanks to all who made and published it!

THE book on art
Revisado: 07-23-21
The Art Spirit by Henri Robert is the most dense, wise, and insightful teaching of how to create art I have read and I’ve read about 6 to 8 of the most reputable books on making art. Almost every single sentence is quotable. Henri Robert has the most uncanny, almost spiritual, understanding of what makes great art. Even though he references painting mostly I’m an actor, filmmaker and writer and I felt it was all extremely relevant to my crafts. If you are interested in making high art then this boos of def. for you!

Extremely Helpful
Revisado: 07-15-21
This was an eye opener for me about what a truly loving, trusting and healthy intimate relationship looks like. I actually had no idea bc I come from a very dysfunctional mother and a father who left and was also dysfunctional. It’s weird but hearing about what the inside of an emotionally secure relationship looks like completely woke me up in a way that spirituality never has. Also, it’s made me realize how many people in the media, Hollywood, movies and news are behaving toxic and are actually really poor role models. That’s sort of sad but I realize now the really happy couples are existing everywhere not trying to make a lot of noise or conflict bc they are more peaceful and satisfied and trust worthy. And I aim to join them soon in their happy, glowing satisfaction

Excellent Book On Sex
Revisado: 06-11-21
Great book bc it shares what women need and want to feel more sexually attracted to you and satisfied. I was surprised to find out how wrongly I interpreted women’s sexuality bc I was always looking at it through either my point of view as a man or through the point of view of media and feminism which actually hides the more subtle and real needs of many women. I appreciate women a lot more now that I understand them better and will no longer pay attention to how mainstream media and Hollywood films and feminists depict women’s sexuality. It is much more beautiful, sensitive, mindful, feminine and intuitive that I previously knew, and I have also developed a greater appreciation for women’s need for deeper connection to be integrated with sex. I think if you follow the techniques and dynamics the author lays out it might elevate sexual to higher pleasure and to a higher ideal that is not so divisive, abrasive, arrogant, and selfish as many current American mainstream feminist and social justice movements portray in the media. Great book with eye opening information for any man looking to better understand female sexuality from someone who actually studies it professionally and doesn’t have a political stake in the game.
