Interesting take on the 2020 election and recount. Big fish won but small fish is still struggling. Reminded me of “House of Cards”. Highly recommended.

It’s Only Okay

It’s only Okay for me. I tried and liked the first book, then this book was light funny-at-time read; I found myself not intrigued enough to further investing my time and money into the series despite the rave reviews. May be it’s my age. LOL.

Excellent listen!

IMO this is by far the best performance of Simon Vance, one of my favorites. He performed with younger voice for young Mountstewart, the protagonist, and graduated consistently to more mature and older voice as the protagonist aged. Now that's a grand performance!

The story is interesting, and witty to read. Lots of great historical references, and beautiful integrated. Fun read!

Really Gruesome and Great Psychological Thriller

Highly recommended for the fans of Criminal Minds (TV series). I find this psychological thriller realistic, plot well developed, and the story gruesome and sadistic - not for the faint of hearts (be warned). The author has a way with words, the dialogues feel natural. One of my favorite narrators, Kathleen Early knocked the voice performance out of the park.

Evoke Feelings

The story evokes multiple feelings, and I love it! Even though it is teenagers story, it is very well written and the plot is precisely constructed. It is even better with great narrations from some of my favorite elites.

Solid writing, interesting premise, OK overall

I listened to the whole audio book; liked the premise and the writing style was solid in the contemporary casual adult language. I thought the story is just OK, slow in actions comparing to most of the post apocalyptic books I have read. Many reviewers seem to like the series, so I am going to try Book2 in near future.

Great narration performed by James Foster, perfect for the tone of the book.

My New Romance Thriller Author

Karen Rose writes an amazing romantic suspense book. This book Closer Than You Think by Karen Rose kept my attention for the whole 28 hours and 36 minutes of the audio performance (at 2x speed); I was kept guessing who the villain is even though the book's title is already the first clue. The experience is enhanced with superb audio performance by Hillary Huber.

If you are like me, a fan of romance and gritty thrillers, a fan of John Sandford's Lucas Davenport series, be sure to check out this author. Happy listening!

Vince Flynn fans would like this series

I enjoyed the 2nd book in John Wells series as much as Mitch Rapp series by Vince Flynn. Fast pace, full of actions, coherent story, and gripping from the start to the end. Narration by George Guidall is great as always.

Good Premise but Long Winded

The characters are well developed throughout the book, and they are likeable. I enjoyed the the premise for the book, as well as the voice performance by Caroline Lee. I didn't mind the plot moving back and forth in time. However, I found the story quite long winded and repetitive in a way due to the stories told from each character's view point. Good but not great, IMO.

Great Start of An Adventure with Veronica Speedwel

A thoroughly enjoyable story by Deanna Raybourn about a typically British, 19th century feminist with an appropriate male protagonist as the love interest. Well developed and interesting characters, witty dialogs, engaging adventures, juicy love interest, and to top it off, a superb voice performance by Angele Masters, and a beautiful cover illustration.
