Historia
Two humans and a robot on their own in the Alpha Centauri system: Marchenko, Adam and Eve have found asylum on a planet inhabited by aliens. They could spend the rest of their lives here in peace. But apparently there are many more people who, like them, have been sent to alien systems without a return ticket and without being asked - castaways with uncertain fates who need their help. Their alien rescuers generously offer to take them on a search in one of their spaceships.

Couldn’t finish it. It’s not like the original trilogy at all.
Revisado: 04-18-25
After listening to the original Proxima trilogy, which I enjoyed, I thought I’d try out the first of these sequel novellas. I made it halfway through and tried to return it, but Audible won’t let me because I didn’t use a Credit to cover the 7ish-dollar cost. So now I’m stuck with it.
The writing seems too rushed and the narrator sounds like a children’s book narrator, which is unsettling when the adult themes come up. The plot meanders too quickly and the characters make strange decisions that aren’t believsble as. It’s like the characters changed their personalities.
Perhaps one day I’ll finish it and be surprised, but regardless it’s not the same as the Proxima trilogy.

Historia
Two astronomers have detected a strange, pulsing signal from deep space. Within hours, the US government goes into lockdown, restricting airspace and scrubbing scientific data. Was the signal an intercepted communication revealing alarming plans for an enemy’s military strike? Or has humanity at long last found proof of extraterrestrial life?

Not the worst story but I wouldn’t suggest it to anyone

For me, the turning point of the story was a complete and total letdown. I still listened to it all the way through, and the performance was pretty good, so I give it 3 stars overall.

This book made me laugh pretty hard several times. I always appreciate good humor that’s rated PG because it can be difficult to come by. It’s a good story but definitely not one of Sanderson’s best. I highly recommend reading/listening to it if you’re a Sanderson fan. It’s not nearly as long as most of his books, so you don’t have much time to lose if you don’t like it.

Amazing story, just like its prequel
Revisado: 04-29-23
If you can read both "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" and its sequel, "The Next Person You Meet in Heaven" without getting a little teary-eyed even once, you're either not paying attention or you're a Narcissist. These books are spiritually uplifting and really make you think twice about the little things in life that can be so easily taken for granted. Instead of beating you over the head with a bible-thumping sledgehammer, Mitch Albom writes about the afterlife from a non-religious perspective.

Historia
Ataegina was an isolated world of medieval castles, varied cultures, and conquests, vibrant until the demons rose and spread relentless destruction. Swarms of lethal creatures with black husks, murderous claws, barbed tails, and dreaded “tooth-tongues” raged through the lowlands, killing 90 percent of the planet’s population. Terrified survivors fled to hidden mountain keeps where they eke out a meager existence. When a trio of young warriors discovers a new weapon, they see a chance to end this curse. To save humanity, they must fight.

Pleasantly surprised by this thriller
Revisado: 04-19-23
Having been a long time fan of the Alien Franchise, most novels involving Xenomorphs were nothing special in my opinion. At least until I listened to this one. Wow! An awesome addition to the Alien universe. Primitive humans (circa ancient Roman ~2000 years ago) live on an alien planet infested with Xenomorphs, which they call "Demons", understandably. The whole book you're thinking, "how in the heck did this situation come to be?" and then the ending gives you the answer and more. If someone went into this book having never heard or known of the Alien Franchise, the ending would be a total mindfuck. Don't forget to listen/read to the short story sequel to this novel in the "Aliens vs. Predators: Ultimate Prey" anthology. It is also by Scott Sigler. My only complaint is that the narrators voice for the character Creen is really annoying. Besides that, perfection!

Historia
From executive producers of The Walking Dead and Travis Beacham, the writer of Pacific Rim, comes a heart-stopping Audible Original featuring a brilliant British cast. It’s the near future and seven years since a comet hit the earth and blotted out the sun. The world is a dark, frozen landscape. And then, beastly creatures emerge and take over. A story of apocalypse, horror, and adventure, Impact Winter is a wholly original new saga created just for Audible with immersive 3D audio that dares you to pop in your earbuds and listen in the dark.

Has its moments but kinda corny
Revisado: 04-23-22
A couple parts of the story were pretty good but it was hard not to laugh at the corny parts and the common vampire tropes. The decision making of certain characters is mind-numbingly dumb. You'd think after 7 years of living in an apocalyptic vampire nightmare, all the surviving humans would be badass and cunning. Not so much the characters in this story!
The "3D" sound effects sounded good, but it was like listening to a movie. It's all dialogue and no narration! Action sequences are difficult to imagine unless a character commentates what's happening. If you enjoy the Twilight movies, you'll probably love this, but to me it was very average.

Historia
For Mark Caldwell, an unsatisfying life was about to take a turn both terrifying and exhilarating as his fate took an unimaginable turn. When Mark took his aisle seat aboard United flight 4382, he was ignorant of three facts. The fellow passenger in the window seat was named Joseph Colsco. Neither of them would ever set foot on Earth again. They both would be cast naked on an alien planet.

Book 6 doesn’t drop a beat from Books 1-4
Revisado: 07-23-20
Before listening to this audiobook, I realized from the description that one of the short stories from the Tales of Anyar (Book 5) was based off of it. I was excited to get into this book, as I had no idea it had been out for a year. I read books 1-4 in 2017.
The vast majority of negative reviews for this book are based off complaints that it’s too similar to book 1. Basically, the same story with different character names. This makes me realize that these people obviously gave up on the story far too quickly... perhaps after getting through the first 1/4 of the book. They didn’t give it a fair chance! Anyone who reads the book from beginning to end would be crazy to give it less than 3 stars.
I thought this story was awesome, and definitely begins to answer some questions that were never previously answered. The cliffhanger ending made me realize I was lucky to wait so long to get to this book. I hope book 7 comes out sooner than later!

Amazed by how much I enjoyed this book
Revisado: 06-23-17
One the best sci-if books I've ever listened to on Audible, and I have many of the classics in my Library. This book reminds me of a story that only Arthur C Clarke could’ve come up with, and not surprised at all that it won awards. This book probably isn’t for everyone, but I sure enjoyed it. The narration is a decent job, but the female narrator voice occasionally got too high-pitched and screechy for me and I had to momentarily turn down the volume. But that doesn’t take away from the brilliance of the story.

This collection of novellas makes me excited for future Sanderson novels
Revisado: 12-09-16
Any Brandon Sanderson fans out there should definitely get Arcanum Unbounded. If you haven't read or listened to the original Mistborn trilogy, you should be careful to skip "Mistborn: The Secret History" novella in Arcanum Unbounded, as it's one of the best stories in the collection but has major Mistborn spoilers. My favorite underrated story may be "Sixth of Dusk" with its Sci-Fi elements and symbiotic relationship between Man and Bird. I thoroughly enjoyed this collection and I hope that Sanderson writes another in the future!

Revisado: 11-22-16
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Hatchet in 7th grade LIterature class. Now at age 30, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Hatchet on Audible as well. Not a long story, but was easily worth the cost for nostalgic purposes alone. I'd strongly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading survival stories!
