Historia
Valancy Stirling is 29 years old. She has never been married, nor has she ever been in love. She lives with her quite judgmental mother and aunt, who constantly harp on her to get on with her life. An old maid by current societal standards, Valancy seeks reprieve from her current state in the form of reading books that take her to the Blue Castle, a place where all of her dreams and wishes come true. When her life takes a turn for the worse, she comes to terms with the person she wants to be and rebels against her family to fight for her own version of the Blue Castle.

Delightful

Between the writing and the narration, I’m not sure which I loved more! Such a pleasure to read.

Historia
When a high-ranking officer gallops into the quiet Mistyvales, he brings a warning that shakes the countryfolk to their roots. But for Aedan, a scruffy young adventurer with veins full of fire and a head full of ideas, this officer is not what he seems. The events that follow propel Aedan on a journey that only the foolhardy or desperate would risk, leading him to the gates of the nation's royal academy - a whole world of secrets in itself. But this is only the beginning of his discoveries.

GIVE ME MORE
Revisado: 07-19-23
While reading, I laughed, I cried, I was heartbroken, and I was cheering out loud. This book is a delight though and through, from the characters, to the plot development, to the monsters. I finished listening and promptly ordered 3 paperbacks: one for myself and two to share. The next one will be preordered as soon as I’m able!!
(And of course, Tim Gerard Reynolds is an outstanding narrator)

Long haul.

Absolutely loved the narrator, but boy do I have a deep disdain for one Ms Scarlett O’Hara after *finally* finishing this book. Glad to have added another classic to my list, definitely enjoyed the history lesson from a different perspective, but I will not be reading again! I would recommend this book to all young adults…a very good lesson in how not to be if you want to have any real, lasting friendships, and also how your life can quickly turn into a basketful of regrets if you refuse to be teachable and insist that it’s your way or the highway!
