Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

the story of a young chemist who stood her ground
Revisado: 01-13-25
I loved the story and loved the narration. I did not want to get the book initially thinking it would be another chick flick. But the book did not disappoint.
From the first sentence to the last the book was interesting and well written. The main character is a strong woman who is set on being a chemist in the 1960s America. She is a single mother, scientist, and has a big presence, something that no one in the 1960s expects women to have.
Her lessons in chemistry on a TV cooking show are riveting and the audience gets inspired by her lessons. But this is all surface. Her real struggles are in raising her daughter alone, with her being misunderstood by the male world, and in coping after loosing the love of her life. She has good friends, but it took her time to find them. Elizabeth is a strong character and I enjoyed listening about her life and her ultimate success.

When Ollie follows some of their more extreme advice, chaos inevitably ensues.
