An entertaining first look at how today's members of iGen - the children, teens, and young adults born in the mid-1990s and later - are vastly different from their millennial predecessors and from any other generation, from the renowned psychologist and author of Generation Me.

A Wake Up Call
Revisado: 06-09-18
Fascinating data that makes me sad for our nation and our youth. It provides great insight into what has changed and is going to continue to change. This should be mandatory reading for all parents of igen'ers and employers.

Historia
Everyone thinks Emmy Dockery is crazy. Obsessed with finding the link between hundreds of unsolved cases, Emmy has taken leave from her job as an FBI researcher. Now all she has are the newspaper clippings that wallpaper her bedroom, and her recurring nightmares of an all-consuming fire. Not even Emmy's ex-boyfriend, field agent Harrison "Books" Bookman, will believe her that hundreds of kidnappings, rapes, and murders are all connected.

3 days later & I'm still thinking about this book!
Revisado: 06-05-18
Edge of your seat moments and moments that make you cringe, with an ending I never saw coming. It's been 3 days since I finished this book and it is still on my mind.
January LaVoy did another impeccable job of bringing the characters to life and kept the pace rolling. I absolutely love her work and seek out books she narrates. That's how I chose Invisible. The first time I heard Kevin Collins I had to back track because I thought I missed something, but his character, which he did a marvelous job portraying, (in a very creepy way) quickly became almost too real. (That's a compliment Kevin! )
I don't know how Patterson and Ellis came up with this story, but it was an incredible ride of twists, turns, suspense and yes, to my surprise, even horror.
Having recently joined the forensic, detective, suspense genre, I don't have tons of these kinds of reads in my library, but I always judge a book based on my inability to put it down, or turn it off. I actually found myself trying to carve out segments of my busy weekend just so I could listen to this book without distraction. That makes it a winner in my list - case closed.

Historia
Social scientist Brené Brown has ignited a global conversation on courage, vulnerability, shame, and worthiness. Her pioneering work uncovered a profound truth: Vulnerability—the willingness to show up and be seen with no guarantee of outcome—is the only path to more love, belonging, creativity, and joy. But living a brave life is not always easy: We are, inevitably, going to stumble and fall.

Life Changing!
Revisado: 12-13-15
I immediately listened to the whole thing twice. The first time through to let it sink in uninterrupted and the second to make notes (many) along the way. This is the first of Brene's books I've read and the others are now on my list. I am going out and buying copies for gifts. it should be required reading in schools! Do yourself a favor for life, and soak in this book. It will change the way you do life!
