so good to see a book on Buddhism that emphasizes joy, love and gentleness! Still too much emphasis on 'letting go' and 'not clinging' without much advice on how we English-speaking folks might accomplish that. It’s hard to know how to apply centuries of wisdom developed by small groups of contemplatives to everyday people living modern everyday lives.

Please read this book if you are anyone looking for a romantic connection with another human. Even if you hate some of it, there are gems worth excavating. This re-write improves a book that was good to begin with. consider yourself lucky that this book is available.

Good Information, not meant to be an Audio, PDF?

I think that the information could be very useful, but lots of tables that are difficult for me to injest in Audio form. PDF files would have made this a 5 star item.

Long, and almost worth it

I enjoyed 'The Lost Gate' much much more than this story, which was interesting, great characters, well narrated, a good way to pass the time, but just not quite enough 'there' was there for me to give it the full 4 stars.
I would read any sequel to this book, as this book sort of gives the impression of being the 'warm up' for a long series.
I think that having characters who can time-travel works against the dramatic pacing of any book and OSC comes as close as possible to making it work. I almost had the feeling like I was listening to the world's best, and longest shaggy dog tale.

Enjoyable, interesting, OSC working very well in small scale. Suitable for any age. Great for a car ride.

Good Book, Format problems

This is a very interesting book, however, it relys heavily on pictures, even devoting 2 chapters to visual esthetics and the brain. Difficult to follow without easy access to the pictures. I'm on a kindle, which I guess doesn't support pictures in audible, although I get pictures in my text books.

I think it's sort of a rip-off to get the audio without the pictures. I've tried looking around in 'My Library' for the 'accompanying reference material' but I can't find it. I do like the content of the book and would recommend it as a text book. The narration is good.
