Not all classic King

There are 3 that really stood out to me, but all were good stories! The 3 that stood out to me i would call classic stephen King!

Hard to get into

I usually love historical fiction based in WWII but even though the overall premise and storyline was good and heart wrenching, i just could not get into this book! It took me 3-4X longer to finish this book than any other i usually listen to.

Good theories but not very accurate

I was super excited for this book, but it was a huge let down! It reads entirely like a graduate research paper that hasn’t been fully developed or experimented other than for their one paper. The examples she gives unfortunately may be reality in some places they have never been a reality in any of the 4 corporations I have worked at all over the state of Indiana, perhaps we are a bit more progressive than I thought, but in reality I think it’s the differences in Canada vs. the United States and terms used not quite lining up. I want greater inclusion for my own students who are all on an alternative diploma track, I want students to have the opportunities to pursue grade level credit courses instead of applied courses, but this book unfortunately doesn’t help any of that. I actually believe it further alienates public schools and just drives more people to home schooling or ABA services because of the poor overview of the public school special education programs.

A little difficult to get into

It’s just a classic! One of my all time favorite books! It was an easy listen and a good short book to help add to my reading goal for the year!

Just okay, not well written

I downloaded this book because it was included in my audible subscription. The book is not well written and the reader is not my preference. I most had an issue with the way the book was written.

A different perspective

We will never know 100% the actual events that Harry describes in this book. As we all know the truth lies between what 2 sides are saying. All in all it was a decent book, i enjoyed it the whole time.

Did not resonate with me

I wanted and tried wholeheartedly to LOVE this book the whole time, but unfortunately I just cannot say that it resonated with me. I can’t quite pinpoint the exact reasons, there were some things that she says blind people do not do that I know the members of my family who are blind do in-fact do, I think that’s a generational thing. There were things she explains away that my disabled students believe are way bigger deals, and she is definitely entitled to her own opinions and obviously her life experiences have shaped those things. I personally believe this book is less about disability and ableism and more about LGBTQIA and how those beliefs and upbringing affected the author as a disabled woman. I wouldn’t say to not read it, but it definitely was not my favorite.

Not a typical Stephen King, but still great!

The story felt a little forced at the beginning but the longer I listened the more enthralled I became! It’s not a typical Stephen King horror but it has all his fantastical fiction moments!

Horrible book

This book is just terrible! I love psychology and neuroscience but this book is just not interesting at all. I believe the reason is the way it’s written coupled with the authors terrible acoustics in their recording studio. I’ve tried on 6 separate occasions over the course of 2 years to enjoy this book and I just can’t.
