Historia
Temple Grandin teaches listeners the science of the autistic brain, and with it the history and sociology of autism. By being autistic--by being able to look from the inside out and from the outside in--the author's insights are not just unique, they're groundbreaking. According to Temple, our understanding of autism has been perhaps fundamentally wrong for the past 70 years.

A must read for educators, employers, parents and kids
Revisado: 01-19-22
This is the third book on autism that I’ve read, but I’ve learned a lot about autism through hands-on job experience and my studies.
This book should have been required reading for my degree and job.
It helps me think more positively about the future for autistic children.

Historia
It Worked for Me is filled with vivid experiences and lessons learned that have shaped the legendary career of the four-star general and former Secretary of State Colin Powell. At its heart are Powell's "Thirteen Rules" - such as "Get mad, then get over it" and "Share credit" - that introduce his principles for effective leadership: conviction, hard work, and, above all, respect for others. A natural storyteller, Powell offers warm and engaging parables with wise advice on succeeding in the workplace and beyond.

Really wanted to like it…

…but I found it pretty boring. I think it might be more relevant to CEOs, managers, etc.

Historia
In our unique genomes, every one of us carries the story of our species - births, deaths, disease, war, famine, migration, and a lot of sex. But those stories have always been locked away - until now. Who are our ancestors? Where did they come from? Geneticists have suddenly become historians, and the hard evidence in our DNA has completely upended what we thought we knew about ourselves. Acclaimed science writer Adam Rutherford explains exactly how genomics is completely rewriting the human story - from 100,000 years ago to the present.

Too much about DNA and diseases..
Revisado: 12-10-21
Not enough about history. Most of the book is spent explaining how DNA works. Loved the author’s voice.

Israel. The small strip of arid land is 5,700 miles away but remains a hot-button issue and a thorny topic of debate. But while everyone seems to have a strong opinion about Israel, how many people actually know the facts? Here to fill in the information gap is Israeli American Noa Tishby.

I didn’t know much of anything about Israel or Jews before listening. I like that this book was written by an Israeli who claims to be a liberal. This book has inspired me to learn more about Israel.

Historia
From the author of Seed of Israel: DNA Guide to Tracing Your Jewish Ancestry comes this great dive into the history of Ashkenazi Jews. While controversial debates spark disagreements on the crystallization of this Jewish Diaspora, modern genetic studies and personal DNA samples finally conclude the Levantine Middle Eastern and Mediterranean roots of Ashkenazi ancestry: Judean people from the Holy Land that journeyed across the Mediterranean to the bottleneck of Europe.

Sounds like an undergraduate term paper
Revisado: 12-10-21
I will sum up the only coherent information presented so you don’t have to endure this painful narration.
Basically, the author says Ashkenazi Jews have their origins in the Middle East and Mediterranean.
I honestly never knew an individual could just pick up a microphone and record an audiobook like this author did.
It seems like he did some research on the topic but his analysis was very biased.
That is, from what I can tell. The narration was so horrible that most of this book was incomprehensible. The author simply read from his text in monotone the whole time. It sounded like he didn’t even bother to practice before recording. He stumbled over words almost every paragraph.

Good narration
Revisado: 10-15-21
I had to return the last book I read because the narrator was so monotone. This guy was much better.
Maybe it’s not fair for me to review the book before I’ve implemented anything from it but it just seems like…common sense.
