Exactly What I Needed An Actual “How To” Book
Revisado: 09-03-24
It’s an easy thing and quite common to tell someone that changing how you think about stuff will change your life. What’s not so common is describing what changing your thoughts and perceptions actually looks like.
Dr. Carlson did an excellent job both explaining and describing how to stop yourself from sweating the small stuff.
This is an easy to listen to book I will listen to a few more times and I do highly recommend it to everyone. It’s just that good.

Although relatively common, borderline personality disorder (BPD) is often overlooked or misdiagnosed by therapists and clinicians and denied by those who suffer from it. If you were raised by a BPD parent, your childhood was a volatile and painful time. This book, the first written specifically for children of borderline parents, offers step-by-step guidance to understanding and overcoming the lasting effects of being raised by a person suffering from this disorder.

Historia
If the Bible isn’t a science book or an instruction manual, then what is it? What do people mean when they say the Bible is inspired? When Rachel Held Evans found herself asking these questions, she began a quest to better understand what the Bible is and how it is meant to be read. What she discovered changed her—and it will change you too.
Drawing on the best in recent scholarship and using her well-honed literary expertise, Evans examines some of our favorite Bible stories and possible interpretations, retelling them through memoir, original poetry, short stories, soliloquies, and even a short screenplay. Undaunted by the Bible’s most difficult passages, Evans wrestles through the process of doubting, imagining, and debating Scripture’s mysteries. The Bible, she discovers, is not a static work but is a living, breathing, captivating, and confounding book that is able to equip us to join God’s loving and redemptive work in the world.

Inspired Indeed-Because of RHE
Revisado: 05-15-19
Rachel Held Evans has become one of my favorite, progressive, transformative storytelling authors. I was amused and drawn in by her first 2 books. Then Searching For Sunday was simply spot on for me. However, Inspired has given more than what I had before. More hope, more courage, more perspective, and more language to describe my own journey. I was in the middle of listening to this book on the morning of May 4th, 2019. I still can’t believe she’s gone. Her work is going to be instrumental for people like me for generations. This world is a better place because while she was here, she gave us some incredible gifts in each piece of her work. Rest In Peace Rachel.

Historia
We are accustomed to think of sociopaths as violent criminals, but in The Sociopath Next Door, Harvard psychologist Martha Stout reveals that a shocking 4 percent of ordinary people, one in 25, has an often undetected mental disorder, the chief symptom of which is that that person possesses no conscience. He or she has no ability whatsoever to feel shame, guilt, or remorse. One in 25 everyday Americans, therefore, is secretly a sociopath.

Every Minister Should Read This!
Revisado: 01-16-18
All to often I hear people in ministry say love your neighbor like you love yourself. And I agree with this teaching of Jesus’ and I am reminded that there were people Jesus didn’t entrust Himself with because He knew what was in them... could it be some in that category were people without any conscience, like Hitler? This was a great book and I highly recommend it for all people especially those in ministry because you never know when you might cross paths with a real sociopath... 4% of the population... that’s 1 in 25 people without a conscience...😳

Historia
Kent Dobson climbed Mount Sinai in search of the God who had eluded him. Instead he got bitten by a camel. Dobson was climbing the ladder of Christianity, too: a worship leader, teacher, and ultimately senior pastor of one of the largest and most prominent churches in America. But he was growing disillusioned with the faith, at least inside the shell of organized religion.

Revisado: 10-19-17
I was so sad when Kent Dobson resigned from Mars Hill in Michigan, but watching him grow throughout his time teaching there made his choice to move forward, understandable. I am grateful for all that I learned through him, and really pleased with his work in this book. He is right on target. :-)

Felt a "Shaking Free" of so much throughout the Book
Revisado: 05-04-17
Felt stuff fall away as I moved through each chapter. The Author nailed so much right to the cross, where it now remains. I no longer have to carry those burdens and it sounds crazy, but listening to this book, helped make that possible. I am grateful to God for the words and personal stories herein. Blessings to you Geneen Roth... Blessings!!!

A Great Course Indeed!!!
Revisado: 10-30-16
It amazes me how so many "Christians," "Preachers," and "Teachers" on Sunday mornings have no real idea of how Jewish, Jesus was/is. None I have ever heard, except one, have ever conveyed even a tenth of the contents of this course over the course of their years of pastoring. Might need to seek out a good Rabbi or better yet, keep taking these truly great courses to strengthen my faith, understanding, and knowledge in G-d.🙏🏻
