New author for me—glad I stuck with it
Revisado: 10-12-21
A bit difficult to listen to at the beginning as the female narrator’s voice has such an odd cadence. The story was good, though!

Fifty years later, Agent Pendergast takes on a bizarre and gruesome case: in the ghost-haunted city of Savannah, Georgia, bodies are found with no blood left in their veins—sowing panic and reviving whispered tales of the infamous Savannah Vampire.

Massacred by the narrator
Revisado: 08-21-21
I love Pendergast stories and have always appreciated hearing them on audiobooks. The narrator, unfortunately, was a mismatch. Most notably his voices which, with the exception perhaps of Pendergast himself, are quite off. In particular, Constance is portrayed with an imperious and creaky dowager voice totally unfitting for a refined 20-some years old regardless of her actual age.

Although you don’t know till the very end who did it, it isn’t surprising and the motive was weak.

Revisado: 08-04-20
Great story. I love that it had some of the nitty-gritty (to a light degree) of soldiers’ treatment as prisoners of war in North Vietnam. Ray Porter is a stellar narrator . The story is a “who done it“ and ends in a somewhat unexpected way.
