I didn’t realize it was 2 stories with 2 different readers
Revisado: 12-04-24
The 2 nd reader is good for a religious type of book, but horrible for a Charles Martin book. The reader who reads most of Martins books is awesome

Historia
Relentless phone calls interrupt the peace of a warm August morning in Three Pines. Though the tiny Québec village is impossible to find on any map, someone has managed to track down Armand Gamache, head of homicide at the Sûreté, as he sits with his wife in their back garden. Reine-Marie watches with increasing unease as her husband refuses to pick up, though he clearly knows who is on the other end. When he finally answers, his rage shatters the calm of their quiet Sunday morning.

The new narrator is quite bad. It’s hard to even know when Gamache is speaking. His voice should be strong

The story is good but the narration is hard to listen to . I had been looking forward to the latest book

Historia
When Jill becomes both pregnant and single at the end of one spring semester, she and her two closest friends plunge into an experiment in tri-parenting, tri-schooling, and tri-habitating as grad students in Seattle. Naturally, everything goes wrong - but in ways no one sees coming. Janey Duncan narrates the adventure of this modern family with hilarity and wisdom and shows how three lives are forever changed by (un)cooperative parenting, literature, and a tiny baby named Atlas who upends and uplifts their entire world.

A cute story but nothing like most of Laurie Frankel’s wonderful books
Revisado: 12-12-23
While the reader was enthusiastic, she’s totally wrong for this story. She turns it into a soap opera.. her voice is too syrupy and sweet

Historia
Framed for the brutal attack on her manager, indie rock legend Red Nelson flees to the only family she doesn’t yet know: her estranged sister, Kate Fisher, a Search & Rescue pilot working the remote mountains of upper New York State. Kate, the daughter of her father's legitimate but unhappy marriage, has no wish to meet Red, the product of her father’s passionate love affair, but when Kate’s daughter, Molly, decides to hide Red on their property, concern over Molly’s safety forces Kate to stage a rescue and repair the broken but longed-for family she comes from.

I loved this book!
Revisado: 10-11-23
The story begins slowly, a steady stream that builds into a wild, exciting tidal wave. The relationships between Red and Kate went from distrust to a deep respect and love, as they worked together to keep their loved ones safe.
