Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

An absolutely fantastic story
Revisado: 10-07-23
I almost stopped listening 2 minutes in when I realized it was in the first person- but I’m so glad I stuck with it. Such a fantastic story. I laughed out loud multiple times and the ending brought me on the verge of tears. It’s a great blend between sci-fi and sci-fantasy. A must listen!

Historia
A masterpiece of European imagination, The Sufferings of Young Werther is the classic Sturm und Drang tale of youthful angst and tragedy. The acclaimed translator Stanley Corngold brings new passion and precision to Goethe's timeless novel of obsessive love and madness in this magnificent new translation.

A classic worth a read- Goethe changed the way Germans looked at their language
Revisado: 11-26-22
Fantastic translation. Really captures how Goethe was able to dramatize and make flowery the German language. A lovable and despicable charcuterie and the OG PSA on suicide awareness.
Worth a listen.

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

The best book I’ve listened to
Revisado: 08-23-22
I’m surprised that there are so many negative reviews… I feel like maybe these people don’t have the brainpower to comprehend the story. If you like a long story of a charachtera life and trials then this is the one. I love Kvothe and how cocky he is. I love the way the book it written and the cheesy way Kvothe thinks about women.
It’s truly a book that hasn’t been beat for me. I’m on my 5th listening.

Historia
Alice Wright marries handsome American Bennett Van Cleve hoping to escape her stifling life in England. But small-town Kentucky quickly proves equally claustrophobic, especially living alongside her overbearing father-in-law. So, when a call goes out for a team of women to deliver books as part of Eleanor Roosevelt’s new traveling library, Alice signs on enthusiastically. The leader, and soon Alice's greatest ally, is Margery, a smart-talking, self-sufficient woman who's never asked a man's permission for anything.

Gripping story, fantastic reader
Revisado: 02-04-21
I am very picky when it comes to readers. However, Julia Whelan is one of the best female readers. She reads for the NYT as well and for another of my favorite series; A Long Way To A Angry Planet
She does a range of voices and accents and they are all fantastic.
As for the story: I often have a hard time finding dramas of a characters life story that I enjoy. This one had good reviews and Julia Whelan so I decided to give it a go. I am so happy I did. It’s packed with female empowerment, and tender hearted moments. While it is a bit shallow it’s still a story that has you hooked. The transitions that move the story along are well spaced and well timed. The story doesn’t feel jumpy or fake or overdramatized.
Worth a read!

Beautiful Story
Revisado: 11-15-19
This book is amazing. It’s full of compassion, caring, friendship and wonderful life lessons of tolerance. I would recommend this to everybody! It’s so entertaining I was thinking about it even when I wasn’t listening.
