AMAZING

I was a little nervous at first because it started off slow, but I quickly realized how necessary the building of each character was for the story. I couldn't stop listening and cannot wait to start book 2! Two thumbs up 👍🏾 from me!

Historia
Six years ago, I awoke in a cage with no knowledge of who I was or where I’d come from. Six years ago, I was spared the flesh markets and instead thrown in with a group of savages, where I learned it was fight or die. Now, eight Orders of Assassins are converging on the only home I’ve ever known. All in hopes of purchasing new blade slaves for their ranks. I’m for sale, yet all I want is a life far from death and ownership. Then I meet them, the Order of Scorpions. Their allure is a threat to the freedom I crave, but I won’t fall victim to their sting, no matter how tempting it might be.

WONDERFUL Fantasy Romance
Revisado: 07-28-24
This book was worth every bit of the 25 hours and 44 minutes spent listening to it. The Female Narrator was so good and kept me so engaged that I am looking for other books she narrates just so that I can listen to her read to me. Her voice envelopes me and takes me to the scenes of the book as if I were there.
The book itself is very well written with just enough drama, sex, and humor; but it doesn't go overboard either. I almost wish this book was a series, because I would LOVE to listen to more about the scorpions in all of their glory. I would recommend this book 10 times over.

Historia
Ike Randolph has been out of jail for fifteen years, with not so much as a speeding ticket in all that time. But a Black man with cops at the door knows to be afraid. The last thing he expects to hear is that his son Isiah has been murdered, along with Isiah’s white husband, Derek. Ike had never fully accepted his son but is devastated by his loss. Derek’s father Buddy Lee was almost as ashamed of Derek for being gay as Derek was ashamed his father was a criminal. Buddy Lee still has contacts in the underworld, though, and he wants to know who killed his boy.

This book will resonate with me for a long time. It is a wonderfully written story that will keep you engaged and have you feeling every type of emotion before it is done. I am shocked that I did not know about this author sooner, but I will be listening to everything he has written.

Historia
It used to be that the president was the most powerful person in the country. That all changed when Wrath came to our world. He’s more powerful than anything we’ve ever faced. Now there are websites dedicated to worshipping him. Countless internet memes about how ridiculously gorgeous he is. And yeah, I can admit he’s fine as hell. But he’s a villain to end all villains. There’s no way I’m falling prey to that.

Great idea for a series... Horrible Narration
Revisado: 10-29-23
It took me much longer than it should have to listen to this narration. The narrator was fine when she did female voices, but when it came to male voices, it was almost painful to listen to. The narration ruined the potential in this book.

Finished this book in less than two days! I am in LOVE with the Cyrus Haven series. The characters are so wonderfully written, that I want to hug Cyrus, Evie, and Elias. It's going to be torture waiting for the next book.

I was unimpressed
Revisado: 01-24-23
The story was exceptionally boring to me. Perhaps it's because I am used to authors like Karen Slaughter and Michael Robotham whose books provide vivid descriptions and unpredictable story plots that have me on the edge of my seat. This book was not a winner for me, but to each their own.

Virginia claims these events are signs, and unless Agent Thomas helps her, she believes things will only get worse. Her desperation is dialed up higher with a shocking proclamation as she stands before him pregnant, weak, and weary: “Agent Thomas,” she says, “I believe I am Mary.”

Revisado: 08-06-22
I found this story and the narration to be extremely entertaining. I almost did not listen to it based off of some of the reviews, but then I thought,.. "how accurate is it supposed to be, it's just a story" . I am glad I went ahead and listened I thought it was wonderful :)
The acting/narration was spot on and kept me engaged throughout the entirety of the episodes.
Do yourself a favor and listen.

Too Discriptive
Revisado: 01-18-22
The plot for this book is one that I would hope to see made into a movie one day! However; I felt that this book was a little too descriptive. At times I would be sitting on the edge of my seat in anticipation of what happened next, but because of the long drawn out descriptive nature of the book the anticipation would die out and boredom would set in.
