Historia
"I believe there is another man inside every man, a stranger...." writes Wilfred Leland James in the early pages of the riveting confession that makes up "1922", the first in this pitch-black quartet of mesmerizing tales from Stephen King. For James, that stranger is awakened when his wife, Arlette, proposes selling off the family homestead and moving to Omaha, setting in motion a gruesome train of murder and madness.

Outstanding!
Revisado: 11-15-10
Story one put chills up my spine while making me laugh out loud in admiration of the story!
Four good stories all about the "person within the person". Three stories are good--one story is exceptional. It takes a lot to give me the creeps but Stephen King reached out, grabbed me and said boo!

Historia
In Frankenstein: Lost Souls, Dean Koontz puts a singular twist on this classic tale of ambition and science gone wrong, to forge a new legend uniquely suited to our times. It is a story of revenge, redemption, and the thin line that separates human from inhuman.

Horrible
Revisado: 06-21-10
I think that Dean Koontz has lost the formula. Maybe he is bored with the old sharp witted thriller. Maybe he is just running out of ideas. The Frankenstein series started out average and kept getting worse. I will not purchase another.

WOW!
Revisado: 03-19-10
I saved one of Greg Iles' first books until last. It is a little dated with reference to the computer technology but this is a great listen. It starts out fast and keeps going. Plan your listen for when you have some time When you start this one you won't want to stop.

I like the author!
Revisado: 12-16-09
This is a good read. Very well worth the cost or credit. Swain's character, Jack Carpenter, kind of grows on you like Grippando's Jack Swytech, or Patterson's Alex Cross. This story is well crafted and keeps you wondering.

Historia
Grady Adams lives a simple, solitary life deep in the Colorado mountains. Here the 35-year-old carpenter works out of a converted barn, crafting exquisite one-of-a-kind furniture. There's little about this strong yet gentle man to suggest the experiences that have alienated him from the contemporary world. But that is about to change.

Revisado: 12-02-09
Ouch! After a great start, full of potential with a great story developing, Koontz pulled the rug from beneath my feet. It was almost as if the author was bored with the project and abruptly quit. This is the first Koontz novel that I did not love.

Another Great Greg Iles Book
Revisado: 07-16-09
Another great book by this author. All of Greg Iles's work has kept me totally into the story and not willing to shut it off. Iles captures the essence of the deep south in his stories of Natchez and the Mississippi River. Dick Hill's narration is superb. Keep them coming Greg Iles and I will keep buying them!

The Illuminati, an inside joke? The lunatic fringe? Or a vast conspiracy hidden for centuries, unleashing it's power on a naive, defenseless world? It was the lousy luck of Saul Goodman, a tough, streetwise New York detective, to smell the trail in a bombed-out office - the heavy case he'd always dreaded. In a breakneck race against an awesome deadline, Goodman plunges down the trail of the ultimate conspiracy as the days fall away toward Apocalypse.

I have read and listened to hundreds of books. This is the absolute worst. Disjointed and corny. Don't waste your time.
