Did Not Live up to its Billing
Revisado: 04-03-22
Maybe this would have been better if I had read the physical book rather than listening to it. The performance was way too melodramatic and ruined it for me. The story was OK but somewhat contrived, and much of the dialogue was not how real people would speak. I would have stopped listening before finishing but I felt committed to the book since it is so highly thought of.

I Really Enjoyed This Book
Revisado: 07-22-21
This was a great listen. I liked the use of different narrators to give perspectives of the characters. The book was fast paced, never dull. I highly recommend it.

An Very Enjoyable Read
Revisado: 07-01-21
This book moved at a good pace, the characters were interesting and the story was intriguing. Being a New Yorker myself, I also enjoyed learning about what NY City was like in the late 1800's. The narrators made many of the characters come alive.

Boring for a "Thriller"
Revisado: 02-12-19
Got halfway through and stopped. Story was uninteresting and and hard to follow. Too many characters that sounded similar.
