Historia
Steve Wheeler is enjoying retired life. He still does the odd bit of investigation work, but he prefers his familiar routines: the pub quiz, his favorite bench, his cat waiting for him at home. His days of adventure are over. Adrenaline is daughter-in-law Amy’s job now. Amy Wheeler thinks adrenaline is good for the soul. Working in private security, every day is dangerous. She’s currently on a remote island protecting mega-bestselling author Rosie D’Antonio, until a dead body and a bag of money mean trouble in paradise. So she sends an SOS to the only person she trusts . . .

Fun book
Revisado: 10-01-24
The characters are great. Humor is abound. Story satisfying, and easy pace is in contrast to the dangerous situations these “elderly people” get them selves into and the ingenious ways they get themselves out. All but grouchy people will enjoy this book.

Historia
In the rolling hills of upstate New York, a group of friends and friends-of-friends gathers in a country house to wait out the pandemic. Over the next six months, new friendships and romances will take hold, while old betrayals will emerge, forcing each character to reevaluate whom they love and what matters most. The unlikely cast of characters includes a Russian-born novelist, his Russian-born psychiatrist wife, their precocious child obsessed with K-pop, a struggling Indian American writer, a wildly successful Korean American app developer, a global dandy with three passports.

Great writer, lovable plot, to the extent there is a plot. Very good characterization. Worth taking the time to enjoy it. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

Historia
Leigh Collier has worked hard to build what looks like a normal life. She has a good job as a defense attorney, a daughter doing well in school, and even her divorce is relatively civilized - her life is just as unremarkable as she’d always hoped it would be. But Leigh’s ordinary life masks a childhood that was far from average...a childhood tarnished by secrets, broken by betrayal, and finally torn apart by a devastating act of violence.

Horrible book
Revisado: 09-01-21
Do not waist a credit on this book. Slow, tedious, dreadful in all respects and so drawn out that it take weeks to make you get through it all. Story is not worth it and narration drags. I would tell you the good parts of the book, to even out my comments but in my opinion there are non. Life is too short to waist about 15 hours of it listening to this horrible tail.

Historia
The 1950s are on the horizon, and Archer is in dire need of a fresh start after a nearly fatal detour in Poca City. So Archer hops on a bus and begins the long journey out west to California, where rumor has it there is money to be made if you’re hard-working, lucky, criminal - or all three. Along the way, Archer stops in Reno, where a stroke of fortune delivers him a wad of cash and an eye-popping blood-red 1939 Delahaye convertible - plus a companion for the final leg of the journey, an aspiring actress named Liberty Callahan who is planning to try her luck in Hollywood.

An awful book
Revisado: 06-19-21
Don’t buy this book. Characters are cardboard. Dialogue is trite. Bimbo performance for all females in the book. Book for money. No content. The story is with out content. I have given four level marks for most books. Out of more than 300. Hundred books I have never rated a book any where as low, this book is an insult. I didn’t read the reviews nor have I since. But if you waist a credit on this book you deserve to lose it.

Kieran Elliott’s life changed forever on a single day when a reckless mistake led to devastating consequences. Not up to her standards
Revisado: 02-13-21
Her 1st and 3rd novels were Edgar award great. 2nd was mediocre and this novel could have been great but for the lack of clues to the mystery and the quick non realistic ending. Editor must have said “ times up end the story”. A great disappointment. Get it at your own risk.

Historia
There are two sides to every story: yours and mine, ours and theirs, his and hers. Which means someone is always lying. When a woman is murdered in Blackdown, a quintessentially British village, newsreader Anna Andrews is reluctant to cover the case. Detective Jack Harper is suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation. Someone isn’t telling the truth, and some secrets are worth killing to keep.

Great mystery to listen to.
Revisado: 11-26-20
I enjoyed this mystery very much. I was drawn to it by the twists and turns attributed to it by the reviews
And found to my delight they were true. I recommend this book for a good old fashion mystery story. You will listen to the end, as I did, to finally find out what really happened and who actually committed the crimes. Enjoy.

Three pines without three pines people
Revisado: 09-13-20
Routine story but it needed three pines characters to be a three pines story. Ok narrative but not one devotees of the series would expect. Worst of the series. Ok book on its own but no personal feeling since the folks that make its usual fun are missing. Disappointing.

Excellent book
Revisado: 07-06-20
This book deserves a comment. Deeply felt book, feelings dramatized, emotions explored and incite full. Tasted like a lite wine it moves along taste by taste each bit to be savored. It seems slow because it is deep. The narrative is of a murder but it is seen from multi parts , the victim, father, Daughter and lover. A classic. Probably a best seller and book club favorite . Deep lnto Japanese law and culture it becomes engrossing and worth the effort to listen. Not the usual who done it but why it was done. Worth the time to listen.

A very good book
Revisado: 03-22-20
The narration was excellent, the pace, imagery and insight were equally well done. The story line may have been slightly over the top but the characters were so real it didn’t matter. It was a pleasure to listen to. Difficult to believe this was a debut novel. Well worth listening to, get it and enjoy.
