Historia
The true story of Barbara Stager, a devoted mother, loving wife, and dedicated church leader who committed an almost perfect crime. By all accounts, Stager seemed to lead the perfect life in her community in Durham, North Carolina. After her husband, popular high school coach Russ, died tragically, the police were inclined to believe her story - that she accidentally shot him. Suspicions rose when the police discovered that Stager's previous husband had died similarly 10 years prior.

The performer was great. I really liked how deeply detailed the author was with this crime. Can I say it was a pleasure to listen to a good double murder? Yes, I can.

Historia
Confused and disoriented, Georgina Ferrars awakens in a small room in Tregannon House, a private asylum in a remote corner of England. She has no memory of the past few weeks. The doctor Maynard Straker tells her that she admitted herself under the name Lucy Ashton the day before and then suffered a seizure. When she insists he has mistaken her for someone else, Dr. Straker sends a telegram to her uncle, who replies that Georgina Ferrars is at home with him in London: "Your patient must be an imposter." Suddenly her voluntary confinement becomes involuntary....

I enjoyed the story; compelling characters, family secrets, plot twists provided a very entertaining story. Ms. Landor’s narration was superb. I especially liked how easily she did make voices.

Historia
Late one winter afternoon in upstate New York, George Clare comes home to find his wife killed and their three-year-old daughter alone—for how many hours?—in her room across the hall. He had recently, begrudgingly, taken a position at a nearby private college (far too expensive for local kids to attend) teaching art history, and moved his family into a tight-knit, impoverished town that has lately been discovered by wealthy outsiders in search of a rural idyll.

I hate to say that I liked the movie version better, but I did. The story was tighter, and I felt Catherine’s character was better developed. The supernatural aspect was also more developed. I really hate to say I liked the movie, Things Heard and Seen (Netflix), but there we are.

Historia
Hugh of Singleton, fourth son of a minor knight, has been educated as a clerk, usually a prelude to taking holy orders. However, feeling no certain calling despite a lively faith, he turns to the profession of surgeon, training in Paris and then hanging out his sign in Oxford. A local lord asks him to track the killer of a young woman whose bones have been found in the castle cesspit. She is identified as the impetuous missing daughter of a local blacksmith, and her young man, whom she had provoked very publicly, is in due course arrested and sentenced at the Oxford assizes.

I really enjoyed the fact that the surgeon wasn’t a genius, as are other “detectives,” but he made mistakes. He used his common sense, and made sure that he was right about things. I really enjoyed the story and Mr. Crossley is an excellent narrator. I very much enjoyed listening to him.

Historia
Piranesi lives in the House. Perhaps he always has. In his notebooks, day after day, he makes a clear and careful record of its wonders: the labyrinth of halls, the thousands upon thousands of statues, the tides that thunder up staircases, the clouds that move in slow procession through the upper halls. On Tuesdays and Fridays Piranesi sees his friend, the Other. At other times he brings tributes of food to the Dead. But mostly, he is alone.

Chiwetel Ejiofor has such a lovely voice. It doesn’t matter if he was just reading the back of a cereal box. His narration was the best thing about the book and was perfect for a “mad” protagonist. The story was not as grand as Jonathon Strange and Mr. Nortell, nor as charming as The Ladies of..., but still entertaining.

Historia
To his neighbors, Wayne Nance, a furniture mover from Missoula, Montana, appeared to be an affable, considerate, and trustworthy guy. No one knew that Nance was the "Missoula Mauler," a psychopath responsible for a series of sadistic sex slayings that rocked the idyllic town between 1974 and 1986. Nance's only requirement for murder was accessibility - a preacher's wife, a teenage runaway, a female acquaintance, a married couple. Putting on a friendly façade, he could easily gain his victims' trust. Then, one September night, thirty-year-old Nance pushed his luck.

I liked it; I liked the general pace and timbre of the narrator. I did like the fact that the descriptions of the crimes weren’t terribly graphic.

Historia
Andrea Vernon always thought she would spend her life living in Paris writing thought-provoking historical novels all day and sipping wine on the Seine all night. But the reality is she's drowning in debt, has no prospects, and is forced to move back to Queens, where her parents remind her daily that they are very interested in grandchildren. Then, one morning, she is kidnapped, interviewed, and hired as an administrative assistant by the Corporation for UltraHuman Protection. Superheroes for hire, using their powers for good. What could possibly go wrong?

Bahni Turpin is THE most entertaining narrator I’ve heard on Audible. I listened to the first book just because it was free. Not my genre at all, but the story was quirky enough to be interesting, but Ms. Turpin’s reading is hilarious!! I bought the next book and it was so entertaining. The voices are so great. Thoroughly enjoyed both books. I’m really looking forward to the next book.

Historia
When we first meet 14-year-old Susie Salmon, she is already in heaven. In the sweet, untroubled voice of a precocious teenage girl, Susie relates the awful events of her death and her own adjustment to the strange new place where she finds herself. With love, longing, and a growing understanding, Susie watches her family as they cope with their grief. This story of seemingly unbearable tragedy is transformed into a suspenseful and touching narrative about family, memory, love, heaven, and living.

The Lovely Bones
Revisado: 02-22-20
The story is unrelentingly sad. It’s the story of the survivors, not Suzy. I was very surprised that the narration was so monotone and almost without emotion, especially as it is read by the author. The flat reading was disappointing, but I suppose it reinforced the heaviness of the story. The saddest part, for me, was that except for her dog who found her, she was alone.

Historia
Justice Anthony Kennedy slipped out of the Supreme Court building on June 27, 2018, and traveled incognito to the White House to inform President Donald Trump that he was retiring, setting in motion a political process that his successor, Brett Kavanaugh, would denounce three months later as a "national disgrace" and a "circus". Justice on Trial, the definitive insider's account of Kavanaugh's appointment to the Supreme Court, is based on extraordinary access to more than 100 key figures - including the president, justices, and senators - in that ferocious political drama.

On an island lives a boy called Peter and his band of merry lost boys, young forever. That is unless they get sick or killed by pirates or eaten by crocodiles or unless - inexplicably - they grow old. For some of them do grow old, and nobody knows why. One of these boys is called Jamie, and he was the first boy that Peter ever brought to the island. Jamie's lived there for longer than he can remember, and it's not all fun and games.
