Historia
When you listen to this audiobook, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are listening to a story about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement - a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love. You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

You know nothing at all...
Revisado: 10-04-18
Ok... I read the reviews prior to selecting this as a read, and the best advice I can repeat is to keep an open mind. If you do not focus and listen with the intent of understanding, you will not enjoy this book. But, if you take the time to listen, commit to understanding the character(s), then you'll find yourself pleasantly surprised quite often. The best part about this book was that there was no shortage of plot twists. They kept coming. They were layered very well. Sometimes things were repeated and I'd hold on to them with the idea that it mattered but so often it didn't. It was the minor details chapter's back that sealed the deal. When this makes it to the big screen, because it will, it has all the twists, turns, and thrill a movie needs, I am curious to see how it turns out. It is like Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train. I am consistently amazed at how a creator's mind works and how they are able to tell such brilliant stories time and time again. Kudos ladies!

Historia
It hasn’t been easy being Michael Arceneaux. Equality for LGBTQ people has come a long way and all, but voices of persons of color within the community are still often silenced, and being Black in America is...well, have you watched the news? With the characteristic wit and candor that have made him one of today’s boldest writers on social issues, I Can’t Date Jesus is Michael Arceneaux’s impassioned, forthright, and refreshing look at minority life in today’s America.

All hail Queen Bey...oh and Jesus too if that’s your thing

Michael’s storytelling is memorable to say the least. I enjoyed this so much because he and I had similar upbringings. It’s so refreshing to be able to read a voice that feels familiar, time appropriate and hilarious. I found myself smiling many times at his experiences, outlook on life and his ability to make the most of every situation he encountered. I wish I had a story like this to read as an adolescent. Instead, I get to enjoy it as an adult and know that little black queer boys in the south have one more story of hope and humor to ground them in their ambitions and quests in life.

Worth a shot

Ok, so I read the series over view and immediately thought, this is MY kind of story. I will say that every episode leading up to the finale was great. The performances and story developed as well as it could. The downfall for me came in the last episode. While I won't spoil the outcome, I will say it was not good; simply put. I had a very hard time following the "theory" surrounding the death of Anna and didn't walk away feeling completely confident in what was presented. To add to my stress, lol, there was another twist that occurred which made me think...what in the heck is going on here? And commentary in the last few minutes that I guess "brought" it all together, but left me with even more questions. Maybe another podcast is coming? I'd listen just because I'm committed to closure on this title. I say this to say, listen to it. It's enjoyable, took me less than a day (driving in LA traffic does that).
