Long story

Great narrator The story seemed to have so much potential and then was kind of a let down to me. It was still enjoyable and there were parts where I couldn’t wait to hear what happened next but others that were meh.

Historia
Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.

I’m super surprised that the writer narrated this book and I liked it!
I felt it was a little long and reminiscent of Forest Gump, it still a likable title character and story.

I don’t even remember buying this but I’m really glad I did. Good story with a different kind of tale. Bought the next in the series and I’m looking forward to hearing it.

Historia
This Psych 312 assignment just might send me off the deep end. Determining whether love at first sight really exists with Robbie Moravian as my project partner of all people? He’s the sappiest man alive, so upbeat I could scream, and clearly rooting for happy endings at every turn. How does he not learn from experience considering our own meet-cute last semester almost got us expelled? But we both need to pass this course to graduate. So we’re interviewing five random couples about their meet-cutes and relationships and spending all this time together. Which is certainly...educational.

Simon is the best delivery boy that Mr Edwards’s restaurant has ever had. He’s on time every time, and he’s gotten nothing but good reviews. But he needs more money. His mother’s medical treatment won’t pay for itself, and his father is already working three jobs to try to make ends meet. But it might just be his lucky day: Mr. Edwards has another job for him. It’s more delivery work, but not the usual kind. You might even say that it’s out of this world. Oh well. Beggars can’t be choosers, and the pay is fantastic.

Fantastic!
Revisado: 08-23-21
I haven’t read a Jessi Gage book in several years, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was blown away at how much I loved it. I was excited with the premise of this book. The timing was just right as well as the 20th anniversary is close . This was everything I could’ve hoped for. The narrator was wonderful. The story was tense yet respectful.
I received this as a free copy for a review, though it didn’t change my review.

It started out like any other morning on the train - until I became mesmerized by the guy sitting across the aisle. He was barking at someone on his phone like he ruled the world. Who did the stuck-up suit think he was...God? Actually, he looked like a god. That was about it.

Not a winner for me
Revisado: 08-28-20
I don’t like so much self made angst in a story. I didn’t care for either narrator. I’ve enjoyed other books by this author duo, but this one just fell flat. I wanted to quit listening almost immediately, but finished it. Meh.

But what seemed like a straight-forward job turns into a massacre as the crate is stolen. Up against a wall in Dixie, where social norms have stepped back into the last century, Lizbeth has to go undercover with an old friend to retrieve the crate as what's inside can spark a rebellion, if she can get it back in time.

Revisado: 01-23-20
I need more books like this. I’ve missed Charlaine Harris. I gave her a break after Midnight, and I had forgotten why I was such a huge fan. I don’t know why, I’ve read almost everything she’s written and loved it. I hope we get as many of these as the Sookie books, not as few as the Midnight.
She is one of my favorite writers and her words are crack to me. And the narrator was fantastic. She brought Gunny Rose to life.

Also, the narrator is fantastic. He makes me forget that a male I’d doing the female voices.

Disappointing
Revisado: 08-02-18
I thought this would be good. I was very disappointed. I gave it 2 hours. It would be in the middle of one story then change to another one. Almost none of it made sense. I couldn’t connect with this narrator either.
