Listened to this book after listening to “Can’t Hurt Me”. After getting to know Goggin’s personality in that book, it made “Living with a SEAL” that much more humorous for me. Both books prove that we are far more capable than what we think possible.

This book is amazing. I loved every second of it. David Goggins is inspirational and he really got into my head.

I loved that David was in the room while the book was being narrated and contributed to the story telling as well as added information that wasn’t in the regular book. I only wish there were a pdf with all the exercise information as I’d like to go back and do them. This book is worth another listen so I’ll capture those action items the second time around.

Matthew McConaughey is a fabulous story teller. I could listen to his voice and his stories for days on end. He is a very talented, witty and intelligent man. I love his positive outlook and I enjoyed learning about his life.

I didn't enjoy this book. The author takes very brief excerpts from other books, like 7 Habits and Eat that Frog, but doesn't go into enough depth to be beneficial. The book is more about time management and not about how to construct useful to-do lists that work. He states things that are way too obvious like, don't write your to-do list while driving. DUH! It seems as though he is merely trying to fill a book with words rather than provide useful tips. Additionally, the narration was painful for me. The narrator sounds like he is a computer reading the book and it seems as though some of the humor the author may have been trying to convey couldn't come across in the monotone computer-like nature of the narration. If you have zero concept of time management and utilization, then I still wouldn't recommend this book - go to the masters like Stephen Covey or someone else. I was looking for something more in line with how to prioritize items on your to-list or tips to being creative with your to-do list.

This book was short and an easy listen. James Taylor highlighted certain periods in his life, but didn't go into too much depth. I learned things about James Taylor that I didn't know. Thanks for the free listen! :)

I enjoyed the book and intend to listen again as I was busy doing things while I was listening. I think in order to truly benefit from the book, you need to be sitting with yourself, where you can allow yourself to go into deep thought, do the meditations in the book, and feel things that are being asked of you. .

Dover covers various areas of life and provides tips and suggests approaches on how to minimalize things, people and work from your life. Because so many areas were covered, he gave general suggestions and discussed what has worked for him. I was able to take a few tips from the book and found that there were other areas I couldn't quite relate to; however, we all are different and I get that the book was from his point of view. I do wish he would have spent more time in certain areas, but overall it was worth the listen. I was able to take away a few ideas to work with.

This book was about inspiring change in others in your organization. I was looking more for something on inspiring change within myself. If you're looking for ideas on how to inspire change in others, then this might be a listen for you. If you're looking for a way to inspire change within yourself, you might want to look at other titles.

I absolutely loved the way Mel delivered her book. It was as if she was talking directly to you and not reading at all. She is high energy and upbeat. However, I agree with other reviews in that the continual list of affirmations on how the concept works got to feel a little repetitive by the end of the book. I very much enjoyed the book and her humor in the beginning, but after continual stories of how it worked for other individuals, it started to wear on me and I couldn't wait to just be done. I forced myself to finish it as I probably could have quit before the last 2 chapters. I did love her delivery though.

I found the concept interesting and have tried to implement it myself and while at times I force myself to do something after the countdown (which is what you're supposed to do), I often find I've talked myself out of it before I've even gotten to 1. Maybe I need less of a countdown as she suggested in one portion of the book. I will continue to keep trying.

What I found most useful was her information on the effects of the snooze button. That information alone is enough to get me to think twice before hitting the snooze or going back to bed after I've gotten up, no countdown needed. Keeping that information in mind allows me to talk myself into staying up.
