But two weeks ago, Becca Eckersley, a first-year law student and daughter of a powerful attorney, was brutally murdered there. Now the town is reeling with grief, and the police are baffled.

Best so far!
Revisado: 06-04-21
I’ve been really enjoying the Stride series, smf this is my favorite so far! Lots if twists and surprises, I even stayed up late one night because I couldn’t stop listening. The narrator is great, BUT it throws me off how Maggie sounds Mexican half the time. Still 5 stars

I really wanted to like this story but it just never got me excited. It didn’t keep my attention and I’d have to rewind to re-listen to parts... maybe I’m just too used to faster paced books

Historia
There is a serial killer on the loose preying on vulnerable women. The only identifiable mark the killer leaves are letters - sometimes one, sometimes two - all carved into the torsos of his victims. Together, they spell “Sydney”. When he grabs Daisy Dawson, he believes he has found his next victim. But despite her small stature, she fights back with an expertise that quickly frees her. Before fleeing the scene, Daisy also manages to grab what proves to be crucial evidence: a necklace from around the killer’s neck.

How did 20+ hours go so quickly?
Revisado: 04-11-21
I was shocked that the book didn’t feel too long, even if more than double the length of other books! It maintains a solid pace, stays interesting, and had the steamiest love scene I’ve heard (as someone who only listens to this genre). I’m about to start the second book, just hope it’s as good as the first!

So sad it’s over
Revisado: 08-03-20
This is one of the few books where I realized halfway through just how sad I’ll be when it’s over! I was totally engrossed the whole way through. Excellent character development. Excellent narration. I’m so bummed this is her only book so far.
