Learning how philosophy of stoics play a part and help you understand many of the themes in a deeper way.

I’ve never read any fan faction for any of the books I love and I love HP. Very well explained. It had one moment where it was an overload of information but the author knew it was happening and allowed for with a simpler explanation and an engaging narrative.

This is the second Jane Austen novel I have listened to with Ms. Pike as the narrator. I’ve only recently fell in love with Jane Austen’s novels but I really believe it is mostly because of the excellent narration.

I am shocked that I never found and read a Kate Quinn book before because now that I have read this whole series, It is a gifted writer who can keep you interested in the lives of characters for 4 books. I will be reading many more! She’s a wonderful storyteller!

I loved this book so much! Sometimes moving between time periods can leave you feeling strand but the authors eloquently laid path through both and the connections of the story left me feeling like I was a part of her life and her Grandmother’s as well.
Very well done, overall. Yes, of course I’m now going to look at her other books to see what I will read next! You should too.

The book itself is riveting but ...

The narrator sounds like a disembodied electronic voice. For the first time, I am thinking I would have been better off reading the actual book. I listen to many of the Great Courses books, mostly historical books and thankfully I have never encountered this type of narration because I would,I have no doubt, stopped listening to them. The narration is so distracting that I am not going to continue and will return this book. Live and learn.
