Beautiful Narration

I love a good Meg Wolitzer story, and this one didn’t disappoint. The narrator did an excellent job of capturing all the characters and delivering the story in a truthful, moving way that was true to the text. I was sad when it was over!

Content lost in terrible narration!

The narrator for this book has a speech impediment and a New York accent. She also CAN NOT NARRATE. She is sometimes monotone and robotic, sometimes adding odd and nonsensical inflections, and other times ending sentences in up-speak for no clear reason. I was excited to listen to this book as it appears to contain valuable and current information on dealing with narcissistic parents, but I had to return it after listening to one chapter. The content in this book was completely lost in terrible narration. I am so disappointed. This woman should not be hired to narrate audiobooks. She literally can not speak correctly.

So, So Good...

I missed watching Gossip Girl so I turned to the audiobooks. The books are different from the show but I like how they give you more background on the characters and go into more detail. I LOVED the narration. Cassandra is so fun to listen to, really sounds like she's a high schooler going to school with all the kids in the book, and captures all of their personalities perfectly. She's an authentic narrator and I am going to download more GG books narrated by her.

Funny Listen for Tweens

A great story for tweens. Well-written, funny, at times poignant. Overall it was an entertaining listen and had me laughing. Cassandra was an excellent narrator- really matched all the characters and kept us interested the whole time.

Pretty Little Liars meets POLITICS!

This book was like Pretty Little Liars meets Politics! The perfect mix of mystery, DC culture and high school. I LOVED Cassandra's narration. She sounds exactly like a high schooler and authentically captured all of the teen characters. She was just expressive enough without being over-the-top. I hate when adults try to narrate teen books and come off as sounding fake. This wasn't one of those audiobooks. Highly recommend for other teens.

This is a great, empowering story for girls & teens. Set in the snowy tundra of Russia with kings and queens, it's a fantasy adventure that's heavy on strong females. The narrator's voice fit Valor perfectly and I hope she will continue to narrate other books in this series. She perfectly captured the adventure and suspense.
