Historia
Master of the Senate carries Lyndon Johnson's story through one of its most remarkable periods: his 12 years in the U.S. Senate. At the heart of the book is its unprecedented revelation of how legislative power works in America, how the Senate works, and how Johnson, in his ascent to the presidency, mastered the Senate as no political leader before him had ever done. "There is something uniquely mesmerizing about the wily, combative Lyndon Johnson as portrayed by Caro," says Publishers Weekly.

Great book, but abridged
Revisado: 05-24-23
This book shows how the sausage is made in Washington. It’s sad that it’s the abridged version

Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

Figured it out halfway through
Revisado: 04-18-23
This was supposed to be a twist on a twist of a twist kind of plot, but I figured it out about halfway through the book & then it was just tedious

Tanzania, 1964. When Katie Barstow, A-list actress, and her new husband, David Hill, decide to bring their Hollywood friends to the Serengeti for their honeymoon, they envision giraffes gently eating leaves from the tall acacia trees, great swarms of wildebeests crossing the Mara River, and herds of zebras storming the sandy plains. Grand Hotel Goes to Africa
Revisado: 03-14-23
This is not one of Bohjalian’s best efforts. The character driven novel
Of a Hollywood star taking seven of her friends on her African safari Honeymoon was confusing to me as a listener as it jumped back and forth in time and few of the characters were developed enough that I cared what happened to them
What I like about this author is that all his books are very different from one another, so I’m chalking this one up as a bad effort & will look forward to his next novel.
