Historia
Five years ago, Kelana Gardavros lost everything in the war against the Pale empire. Now Kel Garda is just another refugee living on the edge of an isolated star system. No one knows she was once a member of an Order whose military arm was disbanded and scattered across the galaxy. And no one knows that if her enemies found her, they might destroy the entire world to get rid of her. Kel’s past intrudes in the form of a long-dormant Pale war machine, suddenly reactivated. If the massive automaton isn’t stopped, at best it will carve a swath of devastation that displaces thousands of people.

A very good story and an Amazing performance
Revisado: 07-14-24
I loved how each voice was so unique. You could tell exactly who was speaking so well it was like having an ensemble cast! This is a very cool universe with characters I hope to see more of.

Historia
After five years of conflict, the planets Eiram and E’ronoh are on the cusp of real peace. But when news breaks of a disaster at the treaty signing on Jedha, violence reignites on the beleaguered worlds. Together, the royal heirs of both planets—Phan-tu Zenn and Xiri A’lbaran—working alongside the Jedi, have uncovered evidence that the conflict is being orchestrated by outside forces, and all signs point to the mysterious Path of the Open Hand, whom the Jedi also suspect of causing the disaster on Jedha.

Well performed and a lot of fun!

Now that you no longer need to say “hey” to get Siri to activate on iDevices, Xiri’s name hilariously sets it off. The book was lots of fun, so well read, and very Star Wars.

Historia
Fraa Erasmus is a young avout living in the Concent of Saunt Edhar, a sanctuary for mathematicians, scientists, and philosophers, protected from the corrupting influences of the "Saecular" world by ancient stone, honored traditions, and complex rituals. Over the centuries, cities, and governments have risen and fallen beyond the concent's walls. Three times during history's darkest epochs, bloody violence born of superstition and ignorance has invaded and devastated the cloistered mathic community.

One of the best books and best audio production ever
Revisado: 12-31-21
I love this book. I’ve read it multiple times. Note I’ve listened too it as well. The voice actors were amazing, the interludes magnificent, and I found more new things as I do each time I enjoy this book. This is a hard book to nail down exactly. Speculative science fiction, a parallel world, and a look at philosophy and science both ancient and mordant. I recommend this book, but will warn you it takes a while to get a grip on it. It will totally be worth it.

One of the best Halo short stories

I love Halo smart AIs. I mean, what would Halo be without that core relationship between the Master Chief and Cortana? This story about the personhood of smart AIs is focused on characters from the Halo universe not just found in the games. If you read some of it you will appreciate characters you live from other books, but even if you don’t you can appreciate the depth and quality of this story. Highly recommended.

A series of murders, a determined investigator, and Blue team. Mix in a blend of well written colonial politics, Forerunner artifacts, and character development and this is one book you should not miss.

Historia
Collected here for the first time is every piece of short fiction from New York Times best seller Mira Grant's acclaimed Newsflesh series, with two new never-before published novellas and all eight short works available for the first time. We had cured cancer. We had beaten the common cold. But in doing so we created something new, something terrible that no one could stop. The infection spread, a man-made virus taking over bodies and minds, filling them with one, unstoppable command...feed.

All the Newsflesh goodness you could ever want
Revisado: 05-02-19
I loved Feed. I loved the sequels. I loved the shorts and novellas, but there were a lot and it was hard to keep track of them all (not complaining, this is a good problem to have). This collects then all in one nice package for all your zombie apocalypse needs!
The vocal performances were amazing and I really see the characters as I listened. (Especially Mahir and Foxy.) This is a very well produced audiobook.
I won't go into reviewing all the stories since they are available elsewhere, but I will say a word about the new material. They were excellent, and we _did_ ask for it.
